Argentina says Uruguay is authorised to dredge Montevideo port to 13 metres only

In 2020, the Uruguayan government agreed on a framework agreement for the dredging and widening of the access channel to the port of Montevideo, which provoked criticism from neighbouring Argentina. Now the Argentine government has informed Uruguay that it has authorized the dredging of the access channel to the port of Montevideo to only 13 meters, and not 14, as announced by the current and previous Uruguayan governments.     It is colorful to see how some Argentinean Marxists Union Delegates such as the undersecretary of public works, Edgardo Depetri.

    Depetri still think that Argentina has a saying about Uruguayan affairs or that someone in South America gives any importance to what Argentina says or does.
