Spanish Government pleads EU to speed up trade accords with Latin American partners to contain China's expansion

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has petitioned the European Union to lift all barriers that prevent the bloc's trade agreement with Mercosur to become operational. Sánchez also requested similar action be taken in the cases of accords with Mexico and Chile. Read full article

Don’t hold your breath, as we say, that trade deal will never be agreed by the EU.

It is not nearly enough in their favour to satisfy all who need to agree it, in that organisation.
