Having said that, he is not the example of doing it right either. The economy of Brasil under Lula, growed at a phace you havent seen in your whole life. Pretrobras was one of the biggest oil companies in the continent if not the world. Even Odebrech too. The pre-salt, the modernization of the armed forces. The pacification of the favelas. The elimination of the foreign debt with the IMF (FMI). The middle class progressed.
The biggest debt from governments (right or left) in Brasil or Argentina are to apply more transparency laws and heavy criminalization of corruption. Odebrecht is not more corrupt than big companies like Siemmens, or General Electric or Alstom, that faced in many places corruption scandals. But im sure Brasil knew it and Lula and Bolsonaro knew it and did nothing.
Bolsonaro did not made Brasil stronger than its predecesor. Macri did not made Argentina stronger than its predecesor.
Argentina in only two years in the Macri period, took loans for more than 50 billons dollars. How many industries could've been saved with that money and how many could have had developed?.
But for them, the fault is for the left wing, that wants to be “communists”, while huge debts are created by them.

The British built the railways and sent the engineers to run them; the meat packing plants of Rosario and the technicians to operate them; the electricity systems and the skilled personnel to keep them going.
Exactly a century ago — your superior nation was one of the seven richest countries in the world! Unfortunately economic stability and good governance is a weak area for most of our entire continent!

We here in Chile have also been blessed by the Italian diaspora — although Argentina seems to have been heavily inundated with a high percentage of ethnic Calabrese.
And I also greatly adore all Mediterranean food — especially Italian!
Chile perhaps has been slightly improved with our somewhat different ethnic influence from the immigrated post 19th century British, Germans, French, Italian and other quarrelsome groups that committed political suicide during the Allende Popular Unidad nightmare.
Our country afterwards was even more bankrupt than our Argentine cousins — but we learned the hard way to focus on an export economy with a strong independent central bank!

This evening’s fare was salmon Provençal with saffron rice and honey-butter sautéed baby carrots accompanied with a chilled very good ‘19 Montes Alpha Cuvée Sauvignon Blanc that we purchased early this year at their new Zapallar Valley winery.
Sadly the price point does not justify the price as you can easily match with a bottle USD10 less in price.

I don't like what the Brazilian president said about Argentina's economy. It is absurd to use the word “miracle” while the entire world is suffering from the deadly airborne virus.
I just finished watching the US Congress working this weekend seeking a plan to recover the economy, but there is none at this time. The USA is in debt of 24 trillion dollars and borrowing or printing more money will cause higher inflation and monetary devaluation.
What's going on in the USA is very depressing. There is no more financial assistance to extend the eviction protection plan causing millions of citizens to homeless. The eviction stays in credit reports for 7 years and these people won't be able to rent. I have not seen anything like this. I feel sorry for these people not having a home where to eat and to sleep.
I can't wait to see what Biden's administration will do if they ever care.
@SB4 is remarkable in his racism and decidedly ill-founded comments. He ought to look to his own, I think. His home country is constantly trying to hide just how bad things are in Argentina by wanting to invade any small countries nearby. When they give the option to “decline to state”, I do so, or simply omit, but when they make the mistake and offer a write-in option, I almost always opt for 'human', 'meat popsicle' or 'Aryan' (if I feel particularly combative). Like many here in Brazil, I support and practice miscegenation. It is the true solution to racism.

Growing fruit is not work — it’s a privileged passion that enriches the lives of people!
The orchards appear in excellent condition and the vineyards are budded ready to emerge new vines. The all important pruning was perfectly executed by our experienced crew whom all are older than myself.
I’ve asked the old lady to reserve two of her delicious beef empanadas for lunch which are made with chopped meat instead of ground and use our farm’s large Flame raisins. The dear woman has been selling empanadas and bread all her life and actually knew my grandfather!
Regarding this ridiculous debate — I would again suggest Skippy return my email in private so we can debate this scandal away from the MercoPress forum as he already has my email address.
I see absolutely no merit in arguing it more here.

The weather here in the valley is marvelous with today’s predicted 26°c (78°f) high.
My primary objective is to do a thorough examination of the prepared planting bed for the young avocado trees — which will require more soil admendments prior to planting later this month.
Obviously depending on specific analysis we will adjust the planting bed to an ideal soil for the young trees that will commercially bear their first crop in 2025-26.
One special aspect of our farmhouse is my grandfather’s library which I’ll enjoy one of his wonderful books this evening with an undecided bottle from our cellar.
Currently I’m enjoying an empanada with this evening a grilled sirloin steak and artichoke hearts with the old lady’s Maraquetta bread from her adobe oven.
As I’ve stated: Skippy should return my email in private so we can debate this scandal away from the MercoPress forum. I see no merit in arguing it any more here.
It is customary for most MercoPress contributors to use a pseudonym as their username — although there are a few that prefer to use their actual identity.

A somewhat forgotten bottle of ‘94 Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon and from my grandfather’s library Economic Democracy (1920) by C. H. Douglas — which purportedly was one of Charles Chaplin’s favorite books.
I’ll enjoy both this evening in my favorite chair next to the chimney with a grapewood fire ablaze until I become too drowsy to continue.
Today is a work of investigation and taking copious notes of all the tasks that need to be accomplished by the end of this month.
Obviously the commercial side of our farming is all important — but I’m really looking forward to the family gardens and in the next few days will be planting seeds as Spring is arriving very early this year!

Although not really necessary — I’ve started a grape-wood fire in the chimney. Besides the ambient heat — I love the smell and sound!
Earlier I had a very pleasant phone conversation today with our Schwiegertochter regarding the asparagus beds of which will start producing this Spring.
As it’s her personal project and she’s committed to the harvest — including producing white asparagus which is treasured by her family’s culture.
I’m also committed to expanding our area of our super-sweet varieties of corn with stagger planting to extend the period of harvest. We’re trying a new seed source to compare against Burpees but there are so many new varieties.
After reading into the first chapter of ‘Economic Democracy’ (1920) by C. H. Douglas — I can see why it was one of progressive Charles Chaplin’s favorite books. So far the author’s premise reflect common sense and it’s an amazing century old treatise!
I watched the sunset and opened the ‘94 Cabernet Sauvignon which although was smooth and balanced — was NOTHING close to the ‘97 treasure I’d earlier discovered. (The Casa Concha label is always a solid pleaser but is not to the level of Don Melchor!)
The over two finger thick steak I seared on a blazing hot grated pan before butter sautéing the marvelous bife with garlic and fresh rosemary. (Afterwards I drizzled the butter pan drippings over the artichoke hearts.)
This is the beauty of food and the glory of preparing it — the simple combination of beef — garlic — fresh rosemary with butter combined on a plate — and yet it's so much more than that. The Cabernet is always a perfect accompaniment!
By the way — did you know the infamous Unabomber case in the USA was discovered by the study of Ted Kaczynski’s continuous delusional and paranoid rants like Terence’s?

What I would crave right now is a large caffè latte and a plate of bacon with eggs on buttered sourdough — but I’m simply having fresh sweet tangerines instead for breakfast. My meal plan today is the old lady’s delicious beef emanadas and dinner with another excellent thick steak accompanied with the remainder of the Casa Concha.
I’ve learned that a medium-large sized Yukon Gold potato coated with olive oil and baked at a moderate heat for 40 minutes needs only the herbed butter and garlic afterwards to produce a perfectly delectable side dish.
I fell soundly asleep reading the marvelous ‘Economic Democracy’ book. (I was touched by my own grandfather’s notations and underlining!)
I know my son should read it — but I am myself guilty of ignoring the wise knowledge — which seems to be my fate — so many wonderful books to read and so many wines to sample…
…one thing I’ve tread carefully though is females! It’s a miracle how my marriage has survived — but a combination of economic insolvency threats and razor sharp knives have kept me within our maîtresse femme dominated family. (My Madame if angry can be Machiavellian and sadistic!)
Considering our granddaughters, our daughters and our Schwiegertochter — they with Madame DeFarge — women completely dominate my life. (It’s also why I adore being alone now for another blissful day of solace!)

You’ll perhaps note that a defeated Skippy Jessop is perhaps reflecting his soulful truth as a plea of forgivenence…
He has not returned my email — but I think if he did — he would indeed be self incriminating himself as a fraud. (Still, he now has my email address!)
Frankly, he’s still relatively young by only being in his mid-40s — single — and has a loving ‘WING’ Mom to take care of him. (From what I’ve read — Utah is nice!)
What’s obviously a major problem he faces is his severe gross obesity crisis — as the pandemic has resulted in a 175 kilo (280 lbs) walking heart attack waiting to happen. (Even if he surpasses his 40’s — his life will be miserable in just existing.)
His only hope is to change his lifestyle and consult a medical expert specializing in bariatric surgery as he desperately needs to shed the excess body weight.
Certainly he needs to eat only fresh vegetables and fruit with no unhealthy fats.
Diet is important as well and avocados should be a part of his new health regimen. Avocados target insulin resistance with heart-healthy fats. They also fight Alzheimer’s with its Omega 3 fatty acids. Another avocado superpower is preventing and repairing damage due to its source of Vitamins C, E and K.
One of the secret weapons in an avocado is the high oleic acid content. This moisturizing fatty acid helps keep skin soft and hydrated but also supports the regeneration of damaged skin cells reducing redness and irritation. Eat more of this superfruit or cook with avocado oil if you have this type of skin issue.
In any case — after he loses his weight he’ll suffer from massive excess skin folds that are best resolved with cosmetic plastic surgery.
The real difficulty however is to instruct him about civility and kindness — something he’ll never probably learn!

I picked a few Parisian heirloom carrots from the garden. (This curious variety is of the shape of a large radish.)
My fare for this evening will be a perfectly prepared bife with a baked Yukon Gold potato with herbed garlic butter and honey sautéed carrots accompanied with the remainder of yesterday’s Cabernet Sauvignon. “Carpe vinum!”
Really a perfect solitary evening as I’m really into the C. H. Douglas Economic Democracy treasure. (I highly recommend it!)
Apparently poor Terence (who infamously has his own Wikipedia page) still holds a resentment since I shared his televised court case — which formerly resulted in a judge actually scolding him during his highly embarrassing catfished lawsuit with a transvestite which he ignobly lost.

Afterwards I finished the remarkable book!
Early this morning after my espresso — I took a tour of the vineyards to do an initial bud analysis which was very pleasing. (Unless we have an unusual freeze — we will need to substantially thin the bunch counts well before harvest.)
I then picked up fresh marraqueta bread to enjoy with a ripe avocado for breakfast.
Although this is my last day on the farm as we have a family gypsy brunch tomorrow in Chicureo. (Madame advised me she was preparing her magnificent Tarte Quadrillée aux Cerises which incorporates cherry filling from her girlfriend in Chillán.)
My privilege of farming is not work but a pleasurable avocation — the actual pleasure comes from loving care we place into our farm and reaping the fruits of our labor: beauty and delight to feed our soul, flowers to grace our tables, good food, fresh air, sunshine, and weight-bearing exercise to keep you healthy.
(That is why I consider the Utah dwelling Terence as a complete ignorant barbarian!)

I’m listening this morning in the farmhouse to Dvorak - Slavonic Dances preformed by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Sir Charles Mackerras — which can be played at a low volume so I can pleasantly think over my numerous tasks today.
And tasks… I have many — including awaiting delivery of the wine crush residue which will be added to our ever growing massive compost pile.
I assume you’ll appreciate that I dug into my cellar and pulled four bottles from the early 1980s that were purchased by my father — I imagine they were relatively inexpensive — but they are the very best ever produced by Viña Santa Rita — Casa Real Reserva Especial Cabernet Sauvignon — which will be served amongst several other bottles for tomorrow’s brunch.
“Discourtesy is unspeakably ugly to me” and there are interesting recipes for solution…
Unfortunately — sometimes unexpected dinner guests can be swiftly pleasing if the correct attitude is shown towards the dinner’s man fare. Of course, you probably know from your own experience how dinner guests are best handled:

Reading my mail and going through the news — I came across the dreadful news that Judicial Watch has just revealed that the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), specifically the National Institutes of Health (NIH), spent almost $3 million in federal funds on a University of Pittsburgh project to harvest human fetal organs and tissue, particularly from minority fetuses, and even from full-term babies.
Judicial Watch is representing The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, suing HHS following its failure to respond to a FOIA request on April 28, 2020, which sought information including University of Pittsburgh grant applications for a “tissue hub and collection site.”
According to hospital authorities, “All fetal tissue is collected through a collaborative process including Family Planning, Obstetrics and Pathology. . .the numbers of consents and collections has been steadily increasing…and we are in an excellent position to expand our services to include the needs of the GUDMAP Atlas projects.” This means that we can anticipate its ability both to harvest and to distribute “quality” human tissue and cells, while it does not anticipate any serious problems connected to acquiring and distributing those tissues.
This is exactly why I consider abortion to be murder and late term abortion should always be criminally prosecuted!

Researchers at Brigham Young University published a paper in the Journal of Social Media and Society shedding light on the motives and personality characteristics of internet trolls. For their study, the group of researchers ran an online survey on 400 Reddit users. Concluding the survey results, the researchers found that most of the trolls exhibited dark triad personality traits which include narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, combined with schadenfreude which is a German word for those who derive pleasure from another’s misfortune. (Normally it’s recommended to not exceed 8% of the final compost to be applied to the soil-bed and is organically very active. The smell to some may be considered awful — but it’s the valuable sweet formula to a fragrant healthy soil!)
As I mentioned — I selected a white wine — a suitable Sauvignon Blanc Reserva Gran Tarapacá to accompany today’s really delicious empanadas de mariscos — which elevated my lunch to an exceptionally satisfying meal.
I’m now inspired (as we have frozen salmon here) to prepare for myself a lemon herbed garlic butter sautéed filet (which I will incorporate some of the Tarapacá in the sauce) alongside roasted Romanesco broccoli and the few Parisian heirloom carrots with rosemary infused olive oil.
This evening’s entertainment afterwards is to finish the ‘Economic Democracy’ book while also terminating the Sauvignon Blanc!
Thinking back to last May Madame was absolutely stunning in her fabulous vestment for the celebration of las Glorias Navales!
And yes — the delightful German word schadenfreude expresses my sincere joy as I observe the miserable virginal and grossly obese Terence speak nonsense as he does incessantly here on MercoPress.

Last night’s marvelous dinner was exceptionally satisfying and afterwards I finished both the Tarapacá wine and great book!
(The defrosted 900 gram filet was cut in two parts with one sautéed as described.)
Last night the other-half I quickly prepared into simple Gravlax (using dark brown sugar - salt - fennel ground pepper - coriander - a generous portion of fresh dill - orange zest and juice and placed into the refrigerator) which I’m now enjoying a breakfast of the delicious cold cured salmon on a toasted fresh Marraqueta! (It would have been perfect if I have some Philadelphia cream cheese — but life’s rarely perfect.)
Yesterday was again a complete VINDICATION of my conclusions regarding the actual personage of ‘Terence Hill’ who repeatedly has self-identified himself as Skippy Jessop!
It’s sad that I do not have either DemonTree or THINK to share ALL the information proving the gross obese virgin TROLL resides in Utah in his mother’s basement!
(I’ve repeatedly sent messages to his social media sites listed on his website but he’s refused to answer as he’s a complete mendacious coward.)
Obviously the software algorithm used to detect plagiarism to uncover Skippy’s identity was a significant BREAKTHROUGH and once reading his media anyone can see his undeniable digital fingerprint!

We just finished a lengthy celebration on a somewhat gloomy overcast day. — but the warmth of the motley gypsy family gathered brought joy to the day!
Although there were several outstanding dishes offered — the highlight was oven roasted le Gigot D’Agneau Pascal (butchered by our friends in Chillán) and the desserts included Madame’s magnificent Tarte Quadrillée aux Cerises!
Our oldest daughter has become a very proficient sushi artist and over half the dishes incorporated avocado which compliments the fish perfectly.
Her specialty is dragon roll as well as rainbow roll!
The wine list was extensive and was remarkably satisfying!
(Jack, one note especially for you: Marqués De Casa Concha bottles we opened recently have all been very disappointing!)
As earlier shared, Terence realizes he’s been completely exposed with overwhelming evidence and of course was particularly pissed that I shared his humiliating catfished series of videos where Terence was completely fooled by a transvestite!

You know avocados are a versatile and delicious ingredient to many dishes including:
PENNE with RICOTTA and AVOCADO
12 oz penne pasta
1 avocado
1 lime
3-5 Roma tomatoes
7 oz ricotta
cayenne powder
Directions: Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water, drain when 'al dente'
Wash the tomatoes, then cut a cross-shaped incision into the tomatoes and parboil until the skin peels and splits around the cross then run under cold water until cool enough to handle. Peel the tomatoes and cut the outside flesh into petals.
Flavor ricotta with salt, olive oil, and grated lime peel and lime juice.
Mix the pulp of half the avocado with olive oil, salt and cayenne powder.
Peel the other half of the avocado, cut into medium-small pieces.
Mix pasta with the avocado puree then toss with the tomato petals. Transfer the pasta to plates and finish off with pieces of avocado, dollops of ricotta and sprinkles of cayenne powder.

Apparently she’s been especially charming as she’s negotiating the possible asquission of a 16 month old Belgian Warmblood filly. I know horses are outrageously expensive — but life is short and we are reminded that life is finite…
…and I’ve always been careful with expenditures — but the upcoming avocado harvest makes it a very mute point…
…and her passion includes equestrianism as it’s shared by our daughters and we anticipate our grandchildren to join as well.
Passion amongst our family in preparing food is inspirational that includes occasional the butchering of carcasses and even utilizing the often delicious ignored organs — such as brains which prepared properly can be deeply satisfying…
