In anticipation of the 40th anniversary of the Falklands/Malvinas War, in 2022, the Argentine Tierra del Fuego province legislative passed several bills making it mandatory that all teams' sportswear in all the different competitions representing the province must have the Malvinas Islands crest, “and hopefully this initiative will also be implemented by other provinces”. “It is sufficient to talk to any Buenos Aires cabdriver to understand that the Argentine people know that the Falkland Islands will not be “recovered” by Argentina. The only locals who appear not to understand this basic fact of life are a group of war veterans, a small bunch of nationalist fundamentalists, and practically the entire lot of Argentine politicians. Needless to say, however, in so doing the politicians are cheating and lying. The great majority of these politicians know that the Falklands will not be Argentine again, but they choose not to acknowledge this for fear of losing votes.”

Argentina's indoctrination of its children is a tragedy.

*The provincial Legislative also approved unanimously Bill 518/21, sponsored by all political groups disavowing the “illegitimate elections for the Legislative Assembly in the Malvinas Islands organized by the British government”.

The Argentinians have this view that 'their territorial integrity' prevents the Falkland Islanders from exercising the right to self-determination. Hm.

Must be very reassuring for all those Argentines worrying about their finances in the face of an impending devaluation to know that their government has got school uniforms firmly under control. Dollars, pesos, who cares ? Let's ensure that all the kids have the right logo on their school clothes.

How many strange laws are they really creating in that country? it is mandatory to have certain marks on the school cloths, it is mandatory to put “Malvinas Argentinas”-signs on buses, it is mandatory sing certain songs (“Malvinas march”) after an event &c &c. How is that possible in a country calling itself a democracy? Forcing people and enterprises to pay for that propaganda. How much of their taxpayers' money are they really spending on “malvanizing”? How many persons are employed in all the Malvinas secretariats, observatories, committees, commissions &c? Perhaps some Argentine investigative journalists should try to calculate the “Malvinas Budget”. Money which could be beter used.

Argentina is barred from using “territorial integrity” as an argument. As it is a post UN law and cannot be applied retroactively.

“...The rule of the intertemporal law still insists that an act must be characterized in accordance with the law in force at the time it was done, or closely on the next occasion. ...
The Acquisition of Territory in International Law By Robert Yewdall Jenningsa Judge of the International Court of Justice from 1982. He also served as the President of the ICJ between 1991 and 1994.

    territorial integrity

Paragraph 80 of the ICJ Kosovo Advisory Opinion that states, ”the scope for the principle for territorial integrity is limited to the relationship between individual States and does not impinge on the right to self-determination and independence.”
