UK MPs suggest asylum seekers crossing the English Channel be sent to Falklands

According to UK news reports, the British government is becoming quite desperate about the asylum seekers braving the English Channel, a record 25,000 so far this year, and all sorts of radical measures to contain the increase in arrivals are being considered, including sending the refugees south to the Falkland Islands.     I saw this comment yesterday reported in The Guardian and had a little chuckle. I know from personal experience how stringent the checks are on visitors (for work or pleasure) who want to come to the Islands, so it shows the lack of understanding of (an) MP to suggest that the doors be thrown open to Syrians, Nigerians and all other refugees.
    Where would they put them all? Saunders Island?

    This demonstrates the racism, xenophobia and ignorance that exists in certain islands of the world. Maybe, and just maybe, it would be a good idea to create an underwater cesspool in the backyard of the Falklands Islands.
