Disclaimer & comment rulesGood for the ITTF.This is sport, not politics, and mutual respect through sport should be a preferred theme. . The Argentines should be ashamed of themselves for their regular attempts to prevent Islanders competing in international sport. No wonder they are universally despised.
Nov 27th, 2021 - 10:55 am - Link - Report abuse +6The result was 96 countries in support of the Falklands incorporation, 33 against. And I thought the whole world supported Narnia's mythical Malvinas claim. Ha ha

Nov 28th, 2021 - 08:33 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Congratulations! It is not necessarily sovereign states which are members of the ITTF. Many other BOTs are members as well as England, Scotland and Wales. Hong Kong and Macau are separate members from the PRC. And, as far as I know, it is not the STATES/TERRITORIES which are members, but their national TT associations. It would be absurd to exclude the FI's TT association, just because the Argentine association does not like it. Sports and politics should be separated in cases like this.

Nov 29th, 2021 - 01:18 pm - Link - Report abuse -1Dear Summers,
the concept of universally despised could only be thought perhaps by you islanders who rightly do not love Argentines, it is always offensive because not all Argentines are the same, that is, not all think the same way, if I remember correctly until recently long ago you held a position in the government of the islands and your message is not a politically correct way, there are Argentine gentlemen, believe me.
Hi Johnny, I accept that, and was thinking only in the Falklands context. We don't see much of the gentlemanly side of Argentina, though accept that it does exist. Sorry for the offence.
