The United States is the only country in the world where there are more civilian weapons than citizens. In effect, there are 120 weapons for every 100 US citizens and according to researchers from the Swiss organization Small Arms Survey even when the exact number of civilian firearms is difficult to quantify for several factors, including unregistered and illegal trade, researchers estimates that US citizens account for some 393 million, which is about 46% of all civilian weapons in the world. Gallop Survey shows 32% of US adults own a gun, and 50% of those guns for hunting, so about 16% own a weapon for protection. But then, Americans haven't been under a military dictatorship since 1776. Twain has is right about lies ..

Narnia hasn't got an army to fight with.

Narnia's army only knows how to terrorise its own people.

And what would you call mass shootings at shopping centres, schools (a very popular choice) churches, nightclubs and massage parlours, to name but a few, if not ‘tyranny’.

    “From my cold dead hands!!”

Yep, that’s what happens in the UK.

@Pugol-H Since when? Total number of gun related deaths in the UK from March 2018 to March 2019 - 33. In the US in 2017 the figure was 11 000. In Argentina, the figure for 2018 was 2092. I suggest you do some research. In the Falklands the figure was 0. It has been 0 for a number of years.

And this ‘Constitution and Bill of Rights’, anything in there about the right to life?

@Pugol-H Since when have there been so many mass killings in the UK, as you describe? Specifically from guns?

There haven’t been, I was referring to the US. Specifically Don Miguel’s comment about guns to protect from ‘Tyranny’.

Livingthedream’s comment, ‘From my cold dead hands’ or the full quote ‘you can take my gun, from my cold dead hands’, is often the reply from the pro-gun community in the US to the issue of gun control.

Yep, that’s what happens in the UK, they take the gun from a (usually still warm and even twitching) dead hand. Gun control 1.0

    Do try and keep up.
