    Good luck with that. While it is a prudent move, fiscally, for municipalities to stop funding parties, I know my friends and neighbors well. There WILL be (private) New Year's parties held in homes, but also in bars and restaurants everywhere. It would be nice if the sale of fireworks were restricted to ward off the sleepless nights prior, during and after the holiday.
