Feb 15th, 2022 - 02:43 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Well, let's see : 'to combat inequalities': Yes ! for the high-ranking PT members, those placed in key positions in State-run companies (ex: Petrobras etc) in order to facilitate skimming money off the top, (middle, & bottom), causing billions in losses to the companies and taxpayers. The PT definitely “pulled themselves out of poverty”, they all became millionaires....as for the other 40 million they claim to have “lifted out of poverty”, well, not so much.
Income Concentration : The PT was very successful at that ...they all became wealthy, hid billions abroad, 'n handsomely rewarded all those that cooperated, i.e.,business owners, banks, politicians...for the 'people', they promoted widespread poverty.
Inflation : The PT caused the economic crisis in 2014.....which, after Temer managed to step on the brake and avoid the country from going over the precipice, set the stage for high inflation (10,67 % in 2015), increase in the cost of living, later aggravated by the current 'idiot in chief' and the pandemic.
Unemployment : the PT crisis resulted in the loss of 14,5 million jobs.....still not recovered.
Economic backwardness : The PT also contributed to that.....by increasing the tax burden, by granting imoral subsidies (100s of billions) at the expense of the taxpayer, while the social structure just deteriorated. No significant structural reforms during the PT's 14 years in power, two humongous government programmes (supposedly 'to accelerate growth', known as PACs, in 2007 & 2010, to build much needed infrastructure), for a total of USD 400 billion (at the exchange rates in 2007/10). Only problem, very few projects were concluded, and a good share of the money disappeared. Wonder where ?
So yes, the PT nearly broke Brazil, and now wants to return to finish the job.
