As the Ukrainian President has called for fighters from all over the world to join his country's version of the International Brigades, Russia's Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov Thursday announced those “mercenaries” would not be entitled to prisoner-of-war (POW) status, if caught.     It wasn't that long ago that the Russians were sending tens of thousands of “foreign volunteers” -- which under Putin's notion would be mercenaries -- to the Spanish Civil War. And a lot of wars since.

    Yeah, just proclaim that any member of Wagner Group that gets caught will be automatically treated as a spy.
