Dear WML, in my opinion, You express very wel wat is logic and wat is not. I was ten years in Argentine, often in BsAs but also on Terra del Fuego and in the north as Salta/Jujuy/Missiones/Patagonia the public statements (on murals/monuments) is for years and years stil the same UNREALISTIC bla-bla (because of anger to lose votes) from odd-policy (from present political congress) again man/woman in ARG. are never realistic EDUCATED as They need to be, for real solutions. Dear Teslyn I wish you good work with good results for new generation on your exceptional nice island's from her (Monnickendam/WATERLAND/NETHERLAND. Salute. Personal evidence: I service in the Huzar-Army, (64-3) Suppose the officer say you must go to Indonesia to take back all our “property-islands” there, I had say to the man: please can I speak with the general because I don't go!> effect of education from my parents and school. I must say Les before, -20 years the government has don this with my anchestor soldiers, one lives close beside my house, and I has ask him suppose they send you again? He answher : No never again because it was a political mistake to do that.
You see here the results of proper education. Witch still lack young Argentino's. PITTY for them and the future of their country. ce sa ce la vie!

Well said, agreed, but I don’t think those are Teslyn’s exact words. The article reads as if it has been translated from the “La Nacion” article’s Spanish by a non-native English speaker, so either Teslyn is fluent in Spanish and her words have been translated once (Spanish-English), or worse, the original interview was in English and her words have been translated twice (English-Spanish-English).

What a dumb stupid and melodramatically untrue statement. If the war is not gone, it is entirely because most islanders and the British do not want to put it down, they are the ones who maintain an antagonistic demeanor against Argentina, Argentine does not. Argentina has a problem with the British. Who are the ones who do everything in the spirit of fighting against Argentina's dispute with Britain? Liberation day yadda yadda yadda. Argentina only cares about resolving the dispute thought talks and negotiations, and honors its fallen soldiers, that's it. Argentina is not the one with a fully decked out state of the art disproportionately huge military base aimed across its waters to the islands. The islanders are the ones who have armed a base to fight against us. Britain and the islanders are the ones how make a “war hypotheses” out of the conflict with Argentina. Not Argentina.
What a crock of shit! The British are the warring society who have it out against half the world, then try to act all innocent. They are the ones always looking at everything confrontationally with criticism and racism towards other peoples, always looking to divide the world and divide societies. How the hell is Argentina being “cruel”? Can she look the word up in the dictionary and explain to me how it applies? Are we being “cruel” because we want justice for British and US actions in 1831 and 1833? What do “human rights” have to do with Argentina's claim to the islands against Britain? If anything their human rights are being violated by London, who is using the islanders to occupy the islands. The war happened because Britain wanted a war, they could have easily avoided it, before and after the recovery operation. Landmines were laid because Thatcher (UK & US) decided to attack.
What a dumb bird brain! But now I get it. It's obvious WHY she is in the legislative 'charade' assembly. Clearly the islanders avoid arguing with any us so they can keep the lies and fake narratives going

Something very cheap and nasty going on with the translation but otherwise very well said, Teslyn.

Of course Argentina still bullies us. What else can you call it? They block our airspace, pressure their neighbors to do the same, deny our ships free passage. Deny we are a people.

Jo Bloggs, yours is a puppeteered occupying population serving British interests in the South Atlantic. If the British on the islands were clear about their truth, honest and courageous about recognizing Britain's accountability for their predicament, perhaps Argentina would be more inclined to avoid doing things that had repercussions on the people brought to the islands. But you deny Argentina any recognition or respect for its history, deny its argument regarding 1831 and 1833 events, explain the conflict around the world in your own very creative and self serving distortions, deny everything abusive Britain has done to Argentina in the past, or in the world today for that matter, failing to have any objectivity or backbone about this, ... and yet, you expect Argentina to respect YOU on your terms? ... You must not be playing with a full deck of cards there friend.

Yes we do deny your version of events of 1831 and 1833, because they are untrue.

Vernet asked permission from the UK to set up his business, and when he left voluntarily he assigned the British Matthew Brisbane in charge of his business interests.

Mestevier was murdered by his own crew, who Britain requested to leave.

Thats it, it doesn't amount to a claim, let alone an unequivocal sovereignty right.

190 years of living there does!.
