Taiana pointed out that the presence of a vessel with the Argentine flag and its crew members will help to remind the world that part of our territory is illegitimately occupied...

''Illegitimately Occupied''...What law is being broken? Pray tell...

Perhaps the Numpty may call to list the UN Mandates- including mandatory Security Council Resolutions that Argentina has ingnored?
ooops - no of course he would not - Argentina is always “selective” with the truth- like their Russian and Chinese friends.

If HMB Mount Pleasant had been there in 1982 there would be a lot more people alive today, most of the Argentines.

“That complies with the rule of law and does not violate International Law, which is what the UK does”

If that were true, he’d be able to prove it. No proof no truth.
The historical view of Argentina has been observed. As the US chargé d'affaires Francis Baylies wrote about Argentina in 1832
“...The revolutions of these people are seditious; their knowledge. chicanery and trickery; their patriotism, their liberty, a farce... ”
Baylies held that the US should sign no treaty ...for we would abide by it, and they would consider the violation no greater offense than a lie told by a schoolboy...”

To the present day as constantly defrauding and reneging on every contract or treaty. But what else can be expected of a people that aspire to be dishonest vis-à-vis viveza criolla.

What does he mean by “disproportionate”? Compared with the territory and the civilian population they are there to protect the size of the BFSAI may be large. But compared with its possible opponent, the Armed forces of Argentina, it is a very small. The British forces in the F.I. are of course in no way a threat to Argentina or any other country on that continent. They are totally defensive and and work as a deterrent against any stupidities from the Argentine side. If you want to preserve peace you must be prepared for war. Argentina says it wants to “negotiate a peaceful solution”. But for them a “peaceful solution” means a total take-over of islands. Totally unacceptable for most non-Argentines and especially for the people of the F.I.
