Bolsonaro says Jesus would have bought a gun, had he got the chance

Are evangelicals unable to read and interpret scripture and wear blinders while supporting this politician? A convincing interpretation for Jesus' remark is found here: https://reknew.org/2019/11/jesus-said-buy-a-sword-what-did-he-mean/ and many other bible scholars concur with that interpretation. Be that as it may, even as a humorous aside, this is a foolish and misleading remark from the mouth of a sitting chief of state.
