    Hmmmmmmmm....

    - Don't the decent Kelpers out there get a bit ashamed of the shameless attempt of their FIG(leaf) politicians to reinvent Kelper natural stinginess into “incredible” generosity...?

    - I just did the math..., and it says that each and every inhabitant of them Malvinas Isles has donated 10 times LESS..., than each and every inhabitant of them British Isles...

If anyone reading the above doubts me calculations..., I'll be glad to donate them to him/her....

    Chuckle..., chuckle...

What an extraordinarily unpleasant comment, even for you. You really are the nastiest contributor to this site. I simply cannot understand why you feel it necessary to consistently seek to denigrate everybody. Clearly there must be some incredibly traumatic experiences in your past life that have left you so deeply disturbed.

OK - I will take you up on your offer; please let us know your sources for your estimate.

I am not suggesting you are wrong, but by my rough estimate, the Falklands population have donated approximately £6 per man woman and child (£21,000 / approx 3,500), and the UK has a population of approx 70 million, which would equate to UK donations of £420,000,000. So you are suggesting INDIVIDUAL donations (not government spending) to Ukraine from the UK of £4.2 billion, or £60 from every man woman and child. Sounds unlikely to me, and I cannot find figures to support your claim, but will keep an open mind.

So until further explanation, I will assume that your figures are suspect.
Incidentally, I do not know where your view of “Kelper natural stinginess” comes from - every appeal going gets huge amounts of donation for the size of the population. Maybe it is you that has problems with basic maths.

    TWIMC...

    Malvinas Isles donations to Ukraine = £42,000 ÷ 3,500 heads ......................... = £12 x head.
    British Isles donations to Ukraine.... = £3,800,000,000 ÷ 67,000,000 heads .... = £57 x head.

    Malvinas Isles GDP x capita (PPP)...= +/- £65,000.
    British Isles GDP x capita (PPP).......= +/- £33,000.

    - All the above (PPP weighted & rated..., of course) clearly shows (as i wrote above)..., that each and every inhabitant of them Malvinas Isles has donated TEN (10) TIMES LESS MONIES than each and every inhabitant of them British Isles...

Not precisely something to brag 'bout..., i Tænk...

Thanks for the clarification. Your figures obviously include government contributions. On that basis I would agree that the UK has contributed more per head, but would contest your suggestion that Kelpers are “naturally stingy” - I would still suggest that the contribution from individual in the UK would be higher than the equivalent in the UK.
By the way, mine was £100 - how about you?

Ah - now I understand! Your definition of stingy is different to mine if you think that not throwing things away in case they are useful in the future is “stingy”. I would say that is a sensible trait when you live in an isolated area.
So I guess I misunderstood you when I thought you meant that Kelpers are ungenerous, as that is clearly not the case!

By the way, apologies for my mistype in my previous post - of course what I meant to say was “ I would still suggest that the contribution from individuals in the Falklands would be higher than the equivalent in the UK.” Unfortunately once you hit “Post comment” on this site, there is no way to edit mistakes.

Actually, this war in Ukraine is going well for the Anglosphere, the Ukrainians are bleeding the Russians white, soon Latvia will be able to invade Russia and get to Moscow.

Western weapons are now ‘battle proven’, everyone wants NLAW and StarStreak missiles. Now they know that with a few hundred of each you can stop a Russian armed battle group, dead in its tracks.

The British arms industry have never been busier and are expanding production, with orders for the next 20 years or so.

    Roger Lorton,
We do not consider that giving alms is the solution to geopolitical problems.
What we did succesfuly was condemn together with the United Kingdom, the United States and the entire European Union.
The referendum on self-determination in Donestk, Lugansk, Crimea and the entire Donbass Region.
We reached a unanimous international concensus abaut the limitations of the right to self-determination of the 1.5 million Ukrainian citizens who voted on a freedom referendum for 98% to enter the Russian Federation.

This war was generated by NATO itself, going to the gates of Russia, cornering it against the wall and planning to deploy missiles on its borders.
The only Western country that benefits from this war is the United States, which is going to export oil and gas to the European Union. The only thing they achieved with this is to make life more expensive for Europeans, weaken their currency and unleash an escalation of inflation.
The worst of all is that unexpectedly All this ended up Benefiting China

    Mr taenk
By allowing the invasion of Ukraine, China made Russia more dependent on it, and has allowed the EU to offer to have the millstone of a Marshall Plan for Ukraine placed around its neck. As Russia weakens, China can regain its economic power in Ukraine, with the potential to economically exploit reconstruction. The real winners of the invasion of Ukraine will probably not be the Russians, even if it is their flag that is flown in Donbas and elsewhere. It will be the Chinese government, which has stood by and watched its rivals spend considerable economic and military fortunes on a nasty little war in Ukraine, while ramping up its own influence operations around the world.

the costs of mistrust, territorial disputes, and peace through the use of force must be paid and the cost is living in a more volatile world, insecure and with risks of self-destruction. It's the way I see it.

    Sr Taenk,

I do not want to be misunderstood, I have nothing against the Chinese, I have been in the United States and also in China... In China for business.
They are our main commercial partner, we have nuclear technology exchanges, genetic engineering, they buy our agro products.
They are making strong investments in lithium mining here in Argentina for more than 200,000 million dollars.
are even becoming our partners in the field of defense, selling us jf17 planes.
I even like them better as business partners than the Americans. After all, the United States gave us the dictatorial government of Galtieri and other coups, and has had a strong interference in Latin American democracy. China has not done such evil terrorist acts.

Treating ourselves as a neutral country in global geopolitics, my vision is that we are heading towards a more insecure world, with an increase in defense budgets, a false UN where there are countries with the right to veto, and new nuclear-armed countries, such as Iran, pakistan etc.
I would dare to say that we are witnessing the zenith of the western world as we know it, I would bet on a 3ww 200 years from now.

As outsiders, we will be sitting peacefully at the edge of the river you mention.
While we sell commodities and services to the world waiting our turn
