In the previous article Small party adds key votes to Lula's campaign I wrote that Datafolha pointed to a difference of 12% in favor of Lula at the end of July. Correction/Erratum: The correct number is 18%.
ok, thanks Brasileiro, but would this be the same Datafolha that predicted a defeat of Bolsonaro in his election? I did not expect Trump to be elected and was partially influenced by the near universal 'opinion' polls. Turns out, we need to be more cautious about these pollsters. What exactly is the sample size, how is selection bias managed and what are the outcome expectations of the opinion shapers? No doubt, Lula may win, but unless I see more background data, the predictions made by pollsters must remain suspect.
