the journalist was attacked by a group of demonstrators ... after allegedly trying to prevent looting. So, Boric is a journalist who works at U. of Chile and he was attacked by a mob of hooded men - whom the article has just descrbied as a group of demonstrators - and one mob member was arrested three years ago for burning a public transportatioon bus? Egads, what a linguistic mess. Any idea what they were deomonstrating against? Methinks they were demonstrating against the other Boric and Mr. Simón was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Probably an assignation attempt gone wrong, but their Bersa hand guns misfired so they had to try and do the job the old fashioned way and beat him to death.
