Argentina rejected on Saturday the presence of a stand of the “illegitimate government” of the Falkland Islands, for which it maintains a sovereignty dispute with the United Kingdom, at the agro-industrial fair Expo Prado, held in Montevideo, according to a statement released by the Argentine Foreign Ministry. Sep 12th, 2022 - 10:11 am - Link - Report abuse +7While the Islanders and Uruguay comply with the UN Charter
“Charter UN
2. To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples,
55. With a view to the creation ..and self-determination of peoples,
56. All Members pledge themselves ...for the achievement of the purposes set forth in Article 55.”
Regarding the right of self-determination and the Falkland Islands here it is in simple terms: in 1946 the UN agreed to place the Falkland Islands on the list of Non-Self-Governing Territories. The UN states that the inhabitants of all Non-Self-Governing Territories have a right to self-determination. The Falklands are on the list, so they enjoy the right to self-determination. Which was dutifully exercised through their 2013 Referendum.
While Argentina remains in breach of the UN Charter and OAS
CHARTER OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES
Part One Chapter II PRINCIPLES Article 3
The American States reaffirm the following principles:
e) ..and has the duty to abstain from intervening in the affairs of another State. ...
Chapter IV FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF STATES
Article 11
Every American State has the duty to respect the rights enjoyed by every other State in accordance with
international law.
Article 12
The fundamental rights of States may not be impaired in any manner whatsoever.
Article 13
The political existence of the State is independent of recognition by other States. Even before being recognized, the State has the right to defend its integrity and independence, to provide for its preservation and prosperity, and consequently to organize itself as it sees fit, to legislate concerning its interests, to administer its services, and to determine the jurisdiction and competence of its courts.
Yet more harassment and attempted bullying from Buenos Aires, what a bunch of clowns these politicians are,
Sep 12th, 2022 - 10:24 am - Link - Report abuse +4That statement clearly demonstrates to the people of the Falkland Islands that no matter how friendly we or they may become , their constitution is so written that there is only one outcome Argentina would ever accept. They refuse to acknowledge that the people of the Falkland islands exist, that the islanders have also human rights to live the lives of their choosing.
Sep 12th, 2022 - 10:51 am - Link - Report abuse +3The fact that Argentina even to this day occupies by force and murder all of southern Argentina that belonged to an indigenous people and owners of that land. Argentina can never be trusted ever.
It is time the rest of the uneducated world also woke up to reality of what Argentina is doing and stop financially supporting them.
The vast majority of the Argentine citizens are trapped within their own country because of the ruthless policy of each and every succesive government who continue to brainwash them in believing the Falkland Islands belong to them. They are however stupid enough to keep electing these trash.
The Falkland Islands have never belonged to Argentina period. It is nothing but a claim because of where the islands are.
The more Argentina insist we should be removed the more determined we will be to defy them.
Grow up Argentina. Your hatred of the British will one day be your final undoing.
......as they have done every year, with no success, other than to perhaps boost awareness of our attendance. Yaaaayyyy, go Argies !!
Sep 12th, 2022 - 11:03 am - Link - Report abuse +5As far as I know Expo Prado is a private enterprise situated outside of Argentine jurisdiction. What do the Argies think they can do about it?
Sep 12th, 2022 - 12:58 pm - Link - Report abuse +8It is time for the Falkland Islands to reject the presence of a stand of the “illegitimate government” of Argentina, a country which resides on stolen land.

Seems like only yesterday (the first Prado)
Sep 12th, 2022 - 10:28 pm - Link - Report abuse +4“Even from the first day we were popular, on the opening day of the Prado, before I arrived, the British Embassy put our material out on our stand and during the morning a lady was observed to enter, sweep everything off the table into a bag and leg it. We either had a fanatical collector of everything Falklands or a visit from the opposition.”

Argentina's a funny country, when it's not killing and torturing people it's busy defrauding and stealing from others. That's true from the foundation of the republic. In fact a lot of countries are like that. People Are A Problem.

Poor old Argentina
The commonwealth may by virtue shrink over time, it may even expand , who really knows. But if Argentina starts to see an internal unrest by her own people, you will see the complete collapse of the Country. Taenk persistently accused Britain of doing unselfish things yet right in the heart of his own corrupt success leaders they have done unspeakable things. Those things started by removing a people from their land, then waging a campaign against the innocent by making more than twenty thousand of their people simply disappear.
Sep 15th, 2022 - 09:53 am - Link - Report abuse +1Where in the entire monarchy has that ever happened. Great Britain gave hope to millions of people including even Argentines when they removed your dictator in 1982.
Argentina is so ungrateful it deserves to continue to be left in the cold.
Argentina has up untill now survived literally by the money being pumped in by the IMF . Money that is in effect financial aid to a dying economy.
So Taenk, before you condemn our late queen and her commonwealth, take a good look at the appalling state of your own existance of a country.
You might learn something from this.
You quickly condemn everyone else, while right at the heart of your problem is you.

More pathetic garbage from yourself T , what an extremely sad little life you live trawling the internet for stories about the UK,
Sep 15th, 2022 - 07:59 pm - Link - Report abuse +2As far as the monarchy goes most Brits have no or very little interest in the monarchy, 2 or 3 million celebrated her jubilee, 65 million did not, however her passing away is a sad occasion and she deserves respect,
regarding the Empire disappearing, the UK gave the up the countries peacefully, and yet these countries still want to be part of the Commonwealth, even countries such as Mozambique, Rwanda and Namibia joined who were never part of the empire,
As for Scotland leaving the UK they had a once in a generation ref and chose to stay, if in 15 years they have another vote and want to leave then good luck to them, it will have NO effect on the Falklands ,
So continue leading your sad little life posting immature, pathetic garbage which just goes to show what kind of a man child you are,
