Population Size: Another Argentine view is that the population of the Falklands is too small for self-government. Just as international law does not require a state’s territory to be a minimum size, nor is there a minimum population requirement. Infinitesimal smallness has never been a reason to deny self-determination to a population. (‘The Right to Self-Determination in Very Small Places.’ Franck T.M. and Hoffman P.L. 1976, P331, 383) . In this respect, the UN general assembly issued a resolution in 1970 where it stated that the Charter was unconditionally valid and applied to states irrespective of their size, geographical location and level of development. (UNGA 2734 (XXV) Declaration on the Strengthening of International Security, 16 Dec 1970, part 1).

Not counting the Vatican, which is not a regular and complete “country”, the smallest “country” is Monaco, with 36.500 people. And even they with all the money they weild still rely on France for a great number of things.
Then Gibraltar, with 32 thou ... is not country or nation. Neither are the Falklands. Although they try very hard to educate the public that they are their own entity by using such words as nation and country. They simply are not by full and true definition of the words.
If 50 years ago one could have called them an autonomous territory of people installed by Britain in defiance of Argentina's claim to that land, today they are but a fake front, a fictitious narrative, a human political shield insolently ignoring Argentina's denouncement of occupation while working 24/7 to beat Argentina through the production of false education to the detriment of the world.

Pat the Rat .... the Falklanders are just, whatever they wish to be.

    Wishes ... remember?

No one is what they “wish” Roger. We are what we are, and maybe we become what we wish to become. But we are never what we “wish to be” .
... I don't know what's happened to people these days, but they don't seem to be thinking right.

They could be 10.000 and it wont change the fact that they are not there with any sovereign heart or independent project beyond assisting Britain in its mockery of using them to create “a play”, a systematic “performance piece” that attempts to talk louder over the important issue which is the truth beneath their illogical narrative, seeking to shove over the main issue that is the historical sovereign matter cowardly avoided by Britain, playing dumb to hearing the protest by Argentina about these islands usurped with force and deceptive manipulations by Britain, as well as how Britain uses these people as a trick to avoid facing accountability for all that they have been put through, and the right of Argentina to be responded to.

Patwick, if Argentina had a sovereignty case, they'd take it to the ICJ.

No UN resolution since 1988. No call for a UN debate since 1989.
Why doesn't Argentina call for a UN debate, Pwat?
Isn't that just the easiest thing to do?

Trunks ... 2025? Could show a population explosion.

@Roger Lorton, The United Kingdom does not accept the jurisdiction of the ICJ for the Falkland Islands, only for the Antarctic dependencies.
In addition to that, when there are rulings of the ICJ it does not respect them, as is the case of the poor inhabitants of the Chagos archipelago, that they do have a true right to self-determination and were vilely expelled from their home in 1961.
The ICJ urged the UK to return the territory to Mauritius, and they do not comply with the ruling.. EVIL

Plus Mr Lorto, What does the UN or the ICJ have to do with the truth going on in the world, or among nations? When has the UN or the ICJ ever demonstrated treating all nations equally, and when has the UN or ICJ or UN agencies acted decisively against the UK the US Europe or Israel when these have committed atrocities, the way it has against countries whose actions serious political analysts well explained to the press constituted predictable and reasonable defenses against the power of said mentioned countries and their lackeys economically blackmailed cronies or so called “allies” Why has not the UN called on the responsibility and accountability the US and NATO share as we speak at provoking and fueling on the war being unleashed in Ukrainian territory ultimately hurting them more than anyone? Why has not the UN called on Zelensky to respond to Russian offers to negotiated peace? Do you think Argentina is stupid Mr Lorto? Do you think we and most other countries in the world do not know what the UN and a vast majority of International political, humanitarian, and communications Anglo centered organizations ultimately are, ultimately do and ultimately serve?
Do stick your fingers out of your ears Mr Lorto and feel the breeze. I believe you should notice how the weather is changing not in your favor, and for a reason.

Argie Cit - clearly you have no understanding of the ICj and recognition..
I suggest you look it up ( please try to find Argentina on that list).

Pat the Rat - the truth can be proven. Argentina is impotent. The matter is settled. (Do I think Argentina is stupid? As a people? Oh yes.)

Well there you Roger. You just explained why we're witnessing a new age emerging in the world. It's truly tragic, because those that are approaching new leadership may not have such open mindedness as those who are needing to step down for having had abused their power and belittled condescendily the world. Let's just hop it doesn't capitulate with the complete destruction of your cultural capitals. ... Although, if one looks at the historical record, such upheavals never seem to know how to stop themselves before the total annihilation of their opposing self designated enemies, to the point where one has to wonder... did they have a death wish all along? ... Because by looking at what is happening in Ukraine and Taiwan today, it sure seems that way.
