Argentine Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (CFK) has been found guilty of corruption for fraudulent administration and sentenced to six years in jail plus a lifetime disenfranchisement, the Buenos Aires Federal Oral Court #2 announced Tuesday. Read full article

If the lower court and the appeals court's judgments are not binding, why don't they just try every case in the Supreme Court? I bet if a poor guy is sentenced for stealing a chicken, he doesn't get to appeal to the Supreme Court.

By the way, it is well known that Mrs Kirchner has a stable of journalists in her pay. I didn't know it extended to MercoPress. Most of this article is about Mrs K's accusations against other people rather than her well-deserved jail sentence.

I believe that “Lavajatismo” still persists in Argentina. It is necessary for the political forces to form a Broad Alliance to remove judges and prosecutors who ideologically abuse their prerogatives from public service.

“Lavajatismo” is a word created by the corrupt politicians to defend the indefensible....nothing new.....and not surpring that lefties on here criticize the Lavajato....just proves their ignorance with regards to the corruption that has always been Brazil's strong point.

Now we are in for at least another 4 (happy) years of corruption, sponsored by the ex-convict....in order to try to keep his campaign promises - made with total disregard as to where the money would come from to keep them - the ex-convict needs the Constutution to be amended so that he can spend Brazil into economic disaster...

While campaigning the ex-convict strongly criticized Congress's “secret buget”.....R$ 16 billion in 2022 -, re which there is abosolutely no control over who receives what, or how it is spent - Now, in a180° turn, the ex-convict defends it, but as long as he controls it.....his motto has become, 'spend, spend, spend', as if that will solve our problems....but who will pay the bill ??

9-fingers' VP, Alckmin, never said a truer word back in 2018, during his presidential bid ...- “Lula wants to be re-elected only because he wants to return to the scene of the crime”....but now they are great buddies......let's give the duo a year to show their real intentions..

Alive and well and in fine fettle. Rumours of my death were greatly exaggerated.

Retiring this Christmas so looking forward to some R & R and may even visit S. America, been promising to go see some friends in Argentina for years.

They say they will show me a beautiful country and some lovely people.
