Argentina continues to celebrate April 2nd every year and parades its ex-combatants around as “heroes”, failing to acknowledge that the war was an illegal act that caused the deaths of 649 Argentine military personnel, 255 British troops, and three Falkland Islanders. Argentina hails a long-dead UN resolution from 1965 and continues to demand sovereignty talks with the UK, which, according to them, must bring about the return of their “usurped” islands, failing to recognise that only the Falkland Islanders can determine their own destiny. It is as if the country is living in a parallel universe that is devoid of responsibility and reality. The Falkland Islands are not Argentine.

    “return us the Malvinas”

The lie is so entrenched, the narrative so indoctrinated.

Something that never belonged to you cannot be returned.

Guillermo Carmona, in a job which actually doesn't exist because there are no ''Argentina Malvinas and South Atlantic Islands''. He is the last person to be snubbing a well intentioned and personal expression of sportsmanship and good manners.
    What a miserable nobody.

They can’t even celebrate their nation’s success in the sporting arena with good grace. They have to try and politicise it by banging on about their great national obsession, the Malvinas myth.

It is a sad state of affairs when a positive is turned into a negative by people trying to justify their existence.

    @Steve Potts
The war was started by Rex Hunt sending an excessive force to evict a group of workers from the island of San Pedro/Georgias who had tied a small Argentine flag to the oar of a boat.
It was enough to communicate with the British embassy in Buenos Aires requesting the withdrawal of the workers and nothing would have happened. Just a diplomatic incident.

@Mark Kent Thank you very much Mark Kent maybe one day we can all celebrate together.

Lionel Messi is a hero in Argentina, a national icon and certainly in the top 5 football players of all time. He is worshiped by the Argentine people.

He has an unprecedented opportunity, probably unique in the world to carry a country well beyond his sporting background.

Lionel, explain to the Argentine people that Peronism has corrupted this once great country. Tell them that there is no alternative to hard work and dedication as you have shown. Explain that the Falklands have been used as a myth to blind the Argentine people.

You are perhaps their last and only hope for sanity, because they might just listen to you.

Otherwise, the corruption, the failed economy and the broken society will endure.

    Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

The Monolingual, uninformed Brainwashed Anglo Turnip above asks Lionel Messi to “explain” to his people that...:
    - “THE FALKLANDS HAVE BEEN USED AS A MYTH TO BLIND THE ARGENTINE PEOPLE”

    I say...:
    - Too late matey..., Lionel Messi has, for more than a month now, been singing this daily for us...:
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u4_LhRYMApw *

    * ............. “Y LOS PIBES DE MALVINAS QUÉ JAMÁS OLVIDARÉ...”
    * ............. (AND THE YOUNG BOYS FROM MALVINAS THAT I'LL NEVER WILL FORGET...)

Didn't “The Sun” tell ya' Engrish 'bout that...?

    Chuckle..., chuckle...

    What!!! Are you completely stupid???

Military operations on that scale do not just happen on a whim, especially with mainly conscript forces as Argentina had.

That invasion was going to happen irrespective of any ‘distraction’ in S. Georgia.

You simply cannot be that naive, or can you???

    Judge Jose
More a case of ‘Fart in a Spacesuit’, methinks.
