A nationally reported spying mission? I don't think they will be able to “map” military activities without being deported. As for the rest of it? What a waste of time. Argentina can assess all they like, it will never get to put it's findings into practice.

No cooperation should be entertained as there only purpose would be to undermine the Legitimate Falkland Islands Government in the long term!

This sounds like an excellent candidate for the Ig Nobel Prize (a satiric prize awarded annually since 1991 to celebrate ten unusual or trivial achievements in scientific research}.
If they are given a visa to visit, do they seriously expect ''the different relevant officials living in the Falklands'' to answer their questions with any willingness or candour?

You wont get in without a Visa. That team will never be allowed to come here and stir up trouble. Get over it. Just as any of us through the media and we will tell you how well we ate doing.
We can also tell you where to go as well untill your lot stop accusing us of usurping anything.
Going to be an interesting one to follow.

What an utter and complete dick you are Taenk, when common sense was dished out you were at the back of the queue, having a sensible debate with you is impossible, but then what do you expect, when a sad sad little man like yourself living an extremely sad little life has wasted 10 years of his life under various aliases trawling the net for stories about Britain, an immature indoctrinated blinkered man child of a cabbage, not wasting any more time on you and your bizarre nonsense,

More than 12 years, “Think” “Taenk” or various alternates has trawled mercopress looking for trouble. Can he find a grammatical error to correct? Can he find a small detail to jump on?

The irony being of course that his pretentious child-like prose, his gormless mutterings, his perception of “fact” is so far from the actuality as to incredible.

He used to think he could worry any islander who might have the misfortune to read his mindless nonsense, but now I think he is just happy to be the fart in the room, a unpleasant stench, harmless but you'd rather wasn't there.

If you really want some fun, find the most innocuous article on Mercopress, something really that you'd struggle that anyone would read, then make a comment with an ambiguous interpretation, not wrong, just something that could be debated.

Within 24 hours poor old “Think” would have creamed himself, laundered his trousers, spent 2-3 hours on google trying to disprove what you've posted, all in a childish moronic prose.

It is extraordinary. But hilarious....He must be lonely, but then a fart in a room usually is.

Ahhh, we are in the presence of the birth of a new Argy myth:

‘The project also includes a mapping of military activities, “which have a growing presence in the Islands and which to a great extent have been outsourced, since there are private military forces which interact with UK forces”’.

‘which to a great extent have been outsourced, since there are private military forces which interact with UK forces”’.

Next, Bullshit Bill Carmona will be loudly complaining, to anyone who will listen, that the British Pirates have deployed their ‘Strauss Group’ mercenaries to the Malvinas.

Rested from their last tour of Afgan, where they massacred thousands of innocent civilians, bayonetted babies and burned down the orphanages with the orphans still in them, whilst cheerfully singing:

*Argy Fuckers are still NOT in the Falklands, ho ho, and we are still laughing, he he*

Deployed with orders to ‘stamp out, with extreme violence, any attempt by the (small) Argentinian population there to celebrate the world cup victory’.

    You heard it here first.

What are the “travel rules for Argies”? (I hate that term). I was unaware that there are different “rules” for Argentines visiting the Falklands. If they are going for less than 30 days, the same rules apply to them as anyone, including having their passport stamped.

What a pointless story and pointless exercise. Fill your boots. I don’t imagine we’d bother stopping these people from entering our country. However, let’s say we decided we would.

Think asks the very valid question: what visa is required. Quite correct, no visa is required. Just like no permit is required from the Argentine Government in order for charter flights to land in the Falklands. But, alas, they don’t allow those charter flights.

So I guess that is the type of visa we’re talking about, Think.

    Do you understand.

    Chuckle chuckle.

Taenk or Think as you seem to be refered to on here, it appears you have been commenting for a long time on this website

With this in mind I wonder if you could be of assistance

My question is why did the british troops that eventually arrived in Stanley after the end of the Falklands / Malvinas conflict refer to the islanders as “ Bennies ”

I am told that this is in reference to a character in a british TV “soap opera” popular back in the 80's but which one ?

Mr. Shogun..., in response of yours above...

    - Yes..., I have been coming here for a while to practice on my bad engrish by setting some haughty Anglos right...

    - As..., in 1982..., the term “Kelper” had already became more of a badge of honour than an insult for them Kelpers..., the poor Engrish Armed Farces members had to quickly find a new offensive term...

    “Benny” was it..., from “Crossroads”...

As an auld school Patagonian..., always glad to be of any assistance...

A pointless exercise, but suppose it justifies a visit and shows that the poor Argentine tax payers money is not being wasted.
