The British empir becoms more and more an expensive joke every year. Trebles all round for winning the UKOTA presidency! Meanwhile back in the UK, millions languish in poverty. What will future historians make of the dying embers of this ridiculous parody of 'punching above its weight'. The FCO staff out there all know it's ridiculous but nobody will ever say so because of the financial perks for doing a pointless job - look at all those books I was able to read while lolling around in Stanley.

@Pytangua, you really are a miserable, dried up lemon aren't you? British Overseas Territories are economically, (mostly) self-sufficient, and take little or nothing from the UK economy for their up-keep. If you hate the Falklands so much, why did you visit?

What a sad person you are.
We here on the islands run our own economy. The only part Britain plays in our country is that of defence from the likes of you and your aggressive country.
If you only had time to read books when you visited I trust you learned a lot of the truth that your government dont want you to know about.
I notice several malvinistas drumming up propaganda recently. I presume that it is because we are getting so very much closer to pumping our oil and gas.
Going to love the actions of abuse coming out of Argentina when that oil starts.
As for poverty. Right now poverty in Britain is very low. However in Argentina it is very high with half the population of people in poverty.
Best you read a few more books to really know just what is going on.
You are lucky you had the privilege to actually visit our British Islands given the nature of your twisted government.

Freedom will come with the genetic evolution of the islands. In a few years, South Americans will be the majority.

“The British empir becoms more and more an expensive joke every year”

The only joke is you, as that entity has disappeared eons ago, it does not exist.
All former colonies now are mostly, self-governing countries, including the Islanders.
The UK has facilitated more instances of self-determination, than any other country.
So, don´t tell your Granny, how to suck eggs.
