Libby, Britain didnt invade Syria, RUSSIA did , All Britain did was help the kurds to stop genocide , Britain is not liberating Ukraine, Ukraine asked for weapons to defend itself and weapons were supplied.as far as Afghanistan goes, the west went in for the right reasons, to destroy the terrorists that were being trained ther that had declared war on the west,, its only lack of political will that we are not there now, and boy do the Afghan women and children wish we were still there, i give you Iraq, a huge costly mistake, however does Iraq want Saddam back, no they dont, get your facts right troll.

It was a good service and the weather was quite good, very calm albeit a bit cool. It was good to see so many visitors and to have the Paras here was also special.

I wonder if the brave conscripts you speak of, Trimonde, were any of the same ones who, after surrendering, left armed hand grenades under upturned mugs in people’s kitchens, or wired explosive charges to door bells and battery chargers in people’s homes, or set fire to buildings full of munitions, or tied trip wires to loaded weapons aimed at doorways, or shat in peoples houses…

Roger, do you lie knowingly? Or are you so weak and mean towards others that you've decided to mindlessly buy into the narrative-policy the UK pushes, starting with its misrepresentation of the event at the UN? Why should the UN or anyone blatantly re-define what the protagonist of the matter says is happening and what history corroborates WHEN THAT COUNTRY IS AN EQUAL TO ALL THE REST MEMBER OF THE ORGANIZATION? Is it because Britain cleverly chose the label for its declarations and explicatives to be? and because it's strings and influences in the UN are unavoidable to its members? Was it not called at first “The Falkland Malvinas Islands crisis” for some hours? I remember by the way; Then quickly the “Falkland Islands crisis” for several days, until soon quickly that term was dropped as well, to be replaced by “the Falklands invasion” in order to make sure nothing fed the notion that this event was about a 150 year old territorial sovereignty conflict between Argentina and Britain? Making sure it could soon rest on the bogus “islander self determination” bulx shix?
    - I suppose your answer to this is just going to be your usual maniacal self rhetorical eccentric desperate opinion that pretends no one else in the room is saying anything, because you know damn well that what I just said is true . Just like its true that everytime Britain has anything to say about this it carefully measures and meticulously tailors its wordage to avoid giving the slightest bit of footing for anyone to deduce a valid Argentine argument from. It's like a literary obsession that which precedes your country's policies. A preocupación with the narrative that insists on being painted arrows on the asphalt, telling the world were to go with this.

Where are the lies in Roger Lorton's comment?

    Argentina invaded in 1982

UK liberated the FI in 1982

    Both the statements 100% true.

It is unkind of you to describe the Argentines as “LYING CHEATING THIEVES” even if it is true.

Would the term ‘Special Military Operation’ be a more acceptable description….

    Jun 15th, 2023 - 01:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0
  • Trimonde

Yes. That's what it was Eilean. Do you think these “dumb monsters” would have tried to grab back the islands militarily if they thought Britain would respond by using force? They were thick, but they weren't that stupid. Britain of course also must have considered the fact that they had been negotiating on and off for several years, they had ample reasons all things considered and means to pursue a peaceful if will vehement and hard lined, nevertheless non military response. They prefered to have a war AND, without question by preference of the United States of America. The Junta was running out of fuel, Britain NATO and the UN could have made it hell for them to act too tough. Could it have lead to an eventual splitting of the islands (which to me is the fairest and most sensibly intelligent thing to do) Absolutely! Or it could have lead to a fifty year shared sovereignty pre-independence or anything similar leading to an Independence in the not too distant future? Of course it could have. But the British don't really have the islander's optimal future in mind. They are more interested in controlling the islands, and so they needed to 1) move in stronger. 2) Change islendar psychology to one of resentment and rejection of Argentina. Something a war is most effective at. There is plenty of evidence hinting at the fact that the Generals were let to fool themselves intentionally, purposely given misleading signals and responses, interpreters mysteriously did not show up for meetings. War could have easily been avoided if that is what the English and Americans had truly wanted. The proof is loud and clear in the unfolding of things after the war, one can see what the intions had always been all along with everything they do and say.

    I say...:
    - Says who else...? Says where else...?
(A completely crazy idea that would allow any “DEFENDER” to kill indiscriminately their own people..., by putting all responsability on the ATTACKER...)

BTW... The Brutish Armed Farces artillery shelling of Puerto Estanley with over thousand Kelpers in it ..., less than 48 hours prior to the total colapse of the Argie Armed Farces..., was absolutely unnecessary and should NEVER had happened...
Most probably it was a product of the randiness of some Brutish officers to get a piece of the action by killing somebody before all that shiat was over...

The probabilities that those killed would be their own Anglo civilians were ~50%... Those odds were good enough for them..., it seems...

“ If Argentina had taken its arguments to the ICJ instead of invading, those civilians would have lived. ”

What an absurd concoction of logic ! This shows you perfectly the extent of superiorist bigoted non-accountability Roger Lorton reasons through.

How about London just say “We want to end this dispute in a constructive way that honors and respects all parties” ... hmm by the way; have we ever heard London ever say ANYTHING that remotely sounded like “We want to seek a peaceful and just resolution to this conflict between Argentina and Us” or “It is important for Britain to have a good relationship with Argentina and a friendship devoid of conflicts” ?? Because looking at the whole historical narrative and true details of the war of 82, it sure seems to me like it has always been Britain who forcefully sought military confrontation and escalation up to where Argentina was incapable of matching it, and thus impose its will in total disregard of political justice and respect for other nations. This is totally substantiated by the list of events starting in 1806 when Britain exercised military force against Argentina, but never Argentina against Britain.

Nor did Argentina ever send an Ambassador to Britain with a list of expectations on who to relate to politically and who not to, or who to do business with and who not with.

Of course Britain seeks to complicate things, so as to not acknowledge the simple common denominators that history makes evident as the real real character of their relationship and treatment of other countries.

... keep fighting to not be seen. We've already noticed your mask and costume anyways.

You’ve seen it here, folks. Remarkable.

Argentinians invaded my home with thousands of troops armed to their teeth, locked us all down, put some of us in custody, dug themselves in, laid tens of thousands of landmines and treated us like the shit they did all over our streets. Then when the UK responded with justifiable and appropriate force, they cried like pigs and haven’t stopped crying since… and deadbeats like Trimonde and Think (are they really two different people?) say it was all the UK’s fault and they should have negotiated.

It’s mentality like this that is fueling your 115% inflation rate. Everybody thinks they’re entitle to more pie than is theirs.

Pat, Argentina did not exist in 1806.

A quote from the letter UK to the UN Sec Gen January, 2022

“The United Kingdom is clear about both the historical and legal position on the
sovereignty of the Falkland Islands. No civilian population was expelled from the
Falkland Islands on 3 January 1833. An Argentine military garrison had been sent to
the Falkland Islands three months earlier in an attempt to impose Argentine
sovereignty over British sovereign territory. The United Kingdom immediately
protested and later expelled the Argentine military garrison on 3 January 1833. The
civilian population, who had previously sought and received British permission to
reside on the Islands, were encouraged to remain. The majority voluntarily chose to
do so. In 1833, the territorial borders of the Republic of Argentina did not include the
geographical southern half of its present form, nor any territory in the Falkland
Islands, Antarctica, or South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The land that
now forms the Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego, of which the Republic of
Argentina purportedly claims the Falkland Islands forms a part, did not itself form
part of the Republic of Argentina until approximately half a century after 1833, by
which time the current Falkland Islands people had lived and raised two generations
on the Islands. British sovereignty over the Falkland Islands dates back to 1765, some
years before the Republic of Argentina even existed”

Try to learn some history Pwat

Britain sought military confrontation ?, with just 70 marines on the island ? Britains military was not remotely prepared for any war in the South Atlantic, they never had enough air power or ships available or troops available to be in a war for the Falklands, having to get ships like the QE2 and Canberra to transport troops, having to get the Atlantic conveyor to carry helicopters down there as there were no military ships capable of transporting them, how on earth did Britain seek a military confrontation ? your reasoning is barking mad, you should be bloody thankful you lost the war or you would still be governed by Galtieri and his cronies, no one with one ounce of common sense thinks Britain wanted a war,

Roger Lorton, it's easy to hold on to inhuman innert systems of administration, when we discuss matters of political humanity when you want to win an argument, isn't it? I've never seen people do that more than the British do on the Internet about the Malvinas Islands matter.

In America when write or make movies about our country', we will talk about events as they unfolded after the Mayflower's landing. In Italy we talk about the Roman Empire and the Etruscans as the country's origines, and you do the same about your country when referring to pre-UK event's don't you? You feel Rome's running of England concerns YOUR COUNTRY AND YOUR PEOPLE, not Sweden's or France's. The reason is because the world is built interpreted and run by human beings; people personalities and their referable history, and the world is motivated and acted upon prejudices, and what others have taught us to believe, good and bad. Wars indeed may or may not occur so often because of prejudices and ideologies, good and bad, as well as avoided for respect or had for the lack of it.
You want to talk about this as you would about a machine, go ahead, but be warned you'll ultimately never consolidate righteousness nor ever be stable in your win.
So I'm not lying when I say the British have picked on us abusively since 1806 if not earlier, because you saw as “the Spanish” then, and deep inside still do. That's why you justified your invasion of the Parana which was a river already within our borders, during the time “we were a country”, and that's why you feel that even though Argentina was devastatingly defeated in 82, had never shown any militaristic aggression towards Britain nor any kind of social hostility ever before the Junta's venture, and even though we remained on the opposite end of the militaristic resentment spectrum after the war, your country still felt entitled to write the oppressively controlling points of the Madrid Accord, and position unprovokingly a military base aimed at us

Yes there is Jo Bloggs, because WE DID NOT ATTACK YOU OR THE ISLANDERS. That is a stone faced LIE. What did Argentina actually do ? It attempted to recuperate islands that were taken from it by Britain WHO ACTUALLY IS THE ONE responsible for putting you and the Islanders in harms way, not caring to create a war over that on top of your heads when it could have resolved the real matter between it and Argentina without going to war and risking the lives of islanders. OH, but you don't want to see that do you? You're like a programmed machine to only understand a single story.

The accountable party here for starting the conflict in 1833, not 1982, was London. Who insultingly did not care to respect Argentina's denouncement complain and rejection of their occupation in 1833, ELEVEN YEARS BEFORE the arrival of the new settlers.

But you are all too cowardly to put accountability where it belongs, aren't you? So you say stupid shit like “when Argentina attacked us”. Argentina blames the UK for creating the conditions in 1833.

Are you claiming Argentina was unaware of the British claim to the Falklands in 1832 Think? Are you claiming that when they sent the SS Sarandi and Mestevier that Argentina were not warned that they would be evicted?

This is the great lie of the whole story.

The conditions that led to 1833 were set in place in 1832 by Argentina trying to seize the islands, that act of aggression is the cause of the conflict.

Perhaps had the government of the United Provinces not been so arrogant as to ignore the British claim and had asked nicely for sovereignty, they might have got it, as it was they tried to steal it....and lost it. Just like 1982.

“Trimonde” is a US citizen, called Patrick Regini, living in Orte, Italy. He is a convicted pedophile and has also been imprisoned for beating his own mother for drug money. You will often find him spreading pro pedophile and racist propaganda on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/patrick.regini

    Now..., Kelpers...
Let's rejoice over a couple of “PEARLS” on the above Anglo comments..., shall we...?

    - The comment just above..., on poster “Trimonde”..., is a perfect example of how you are being brainwashed into total turnipidity by your own South Atlantic Newsagency...

    - A bit further up..., Kelper “Jo Bloggs” wants me to “GET WITH THE TIMES” 'bout the USE & ABUSE OF CAPITAL LETTERS in modern times...
    - A bit rich, coming from a man that just recently discovered 'bout “PEGGING”..., by reading an auld “HELLO!” magazine whilst waiting for the missus to be done at the Puerto Estanley Hair Saloon... :-)))

    - Further up again..., Outher-Scottish “Eilean Siar” writes something 'bout some VIKING “Noggin the Nog Harald, that sailed over there to conquer a poor helpless population in the Hebrides...”
    - Well..., perhaps that’s why the Hebrides have such a great affinity with us VIKINGS that they choose to depict those three beautiful VIKING BYRDINGS on their very flag..., sailing, east to west from Scandinavia..., loaded with tall, strong, blond men..., to conquer the poor helpless understimulated ginger female population in the Hebrides... ;-)
(Good thing ya' Gall-Ghaidheilians didn't draw the quartered body of Uilleam Uallas on ya' flag..., though... :-(

    - Now..., returning to my previous topic about “Wars, big and small & Brainwashing”..., hereby a short, interesting video by an Anglo Armed Forces colonel.., that certainly AIN'T NO TURNIP...

    - (”Btw..., ain't ya' KELPERS hosting..., as we speak..., the military training of some elite KOSOVO-ALBANIAN troops to - “DEFEND” - their artificially NATO created country against the “attacks” of the still existing, unarmed ethnic SERBIAN minority that hasn't been ethnic-cleansed yet....?)

Did you forget the ethnic cleansing by Serbians Trunks? The Crimes Against Humanity?
    The accusations of genocide.

Not NATO, the UN separated Kosovo from Serbia, and rightly so.

You have a short memory, old man. Training Kosovo troops to defend themselves against Serbian aggression seem entirely the right thing to do.

    - And you..., as usual have a very biased & undocumented memory..., laddie...
    - Why don't you try..., just for once..., to stick to the facts and not to your own wishes and opinions...?

    1) - “NATO launched its ~90 days long Shock & Awe bombing campaign of Serbia WITHOUT THE UNITED NATIONS APPROVAL..., stating that it was a humanitarian intervention. The UN Charter prohibits the use of force except in the case of a decision by the Security Council under Chapter VII, or self-defence against an armed attack – neither of which were present in this case.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO_bombing_of_Yugoslavia

    2) - Even today..., Monday 19th. of June 2023..., more tha 25 years after..., the United Nations member Countries are divided ~50-50 about the legality of Kosovo's Independence Declaration from Serbia...

    3) - They were crimes against humanity..., accusations of genocide..., ..ethnic cleansings and many other nasty stuff commited by EACH AND EVERY OF THE 5/6 COUNTRIES THAT SECEDED FROM FORMER YUGOSLAVIA...
In the KOSOVO province case..., the accepted tally of civilian and military fatal casualities seems to be ~11 - 12.000 souls...: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo_War#Casualties

    Now..., please tell me...:
    - Why does this nice & sudden “Humanistic Side” of yours..., 'bout the inhuman fate of those ~11 - 12.000 Kosovo-Albanian souls murdered during the 2 years long Kosovo conflict by their own connationals from Serbia does not seem to extend to...
... The inhuman fate of those ~12 - 14.000 Rus-Ukrainian souls murdered during the 8 years long Donetsk and Luhansk conflict by their own connationals from Ukraine...?

It wouldn' be a case of “Brutish Faux Indignation”..., would it...?

I Tænk, that them boats ain’t no “VIKING BYRDINGS”, but home grown Birlinn, used from Middle Ages. Of course it is more that likely derived from Nordic boat construction.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birlinn

It’s hardly surprising that after 400 years of occupation as part of the Suðreyjar
Kingdom, a few traits may have rubbed off.
It was all part of history’s rich tapestry, and we have all moved on…..Something Argentina should try in respect of the Falklands..

    Brainwashed Paddy Darragh Turnip...
    You write above:
    - “Funny how Argentina didn't seem to know about this in 1982.”
    I say:
    - “Argentina” did know all about that in 1982.
United Nations rules on such matters are very clear.
Our Armed Farces (that had couped themseves to powerback then) chose to ignore them rules.
Things went then as things should always go when any Armed Farce doesn't respect UN rules.
That' why I would NEVER imp(lie)..., as Mr. Lorton does above..., that the UN approved or sponsored ANY ILLEGAL ARMED FARCES OPERATION..., be it a NATO, ENGRISH OR ARGIE one. Capisce...?

    Mr.Eilean Siar.
    - Quite civil of you being so open-minded as to accept the slight theoretical probability that your beautiful Birlinns could perhaps contain some minimal details possibly inspired by our much aulder & ugly Byrdings.
(Years ago, on these very pages, I had a short exchange with a bit haughty Engrishman, fully convinced that his Land Rover Series ll was powered by one of Britain's best inventions...: The DIESEL engine... Never heard from him again... :-)

Now, moving on to the Malvinas Issue:
You mention history’s rich tapestry..., moving on…., something Argentina should try in respect of the Falklands..., etc..., etc...
    - If you possibly could take your civil, open-minded spectacles on again for a minute you could maybe find out that during the past 180 years Argentina has moved quite a bit..., offering multiple solutions to the “Malvinas Issue”..., from a generous “Dowry Payment” to a “Joint Sovereignty” or “Lease Back” arrangement..., from a kind of “Saint Pierre and Miquelon Islands” to a kind of “Åland Islands” agreement...
In my humble experience..., the Engrish response has always been the same as it is today...:
“Bugger off..., we have the ”Engrish Navy“ and with it we rule the waves and break the rules...”

Please feel free to inform me if you are in the know of ANY OTHER RESPONSE we Argies may ever have recieved from the Sassenachs...

    Yours

    Mr Think
Without attempting to re tread the well worn boards on this site - discussing the multiple solutions you refer to is of little use.
The UK gov and Islanders have an irrevocable view that sovereignty is certain, and the way to test that is trough legal action. My understanding is that this course was offered, but declined by Argentina.
    So the status quo pertains.

    Mr. Eilean Siar...

    Firstly...
You write sooooo nicely above about “history’s rich tapestry..., moving on….,somethinhg Argentina should try..., etc..., etc..., etc...
But at the same time..., as you Tænk that the UK Gov and Islanders have an irrevocable view that sovereignty is certain..., so bugger all with that woke ”history’s rich tapestry“..., that woke ”moving on“ and that woke ”somethinhg only Argentina should try.“... right...?
    Secondly...:
If you would ”re tread the well worn boards on this site“ just a teeny weeny bit..., you would very rapidly find out..., as I learned Mr. Roger Lorton maaany years ago, wen he was anonymous ”Redhoyt“..., that the ”Legal Action“ you ”understand” was offered (twice) by he UK and declined (twice) by Argentina did “NOT INCLUDE THE FALKLAND/MALVINAS ISLANDS but only
    the FALKLAND/MALVINAS ” D E P E N D E N C I E S...

That would be like if we to were litigating 'bout all them Bonnie & Stony Outher Hebrides and you cunningly suggested to present the case to the ICJ..., BUT ONLY FOR THEM MINGULAY, PABBAY & SANDRAY PRETTY ROCKS...

Indeed will the status quo pertain!

UN may have been a little late to the fray, but I seem to recall a UN SC Resolution saw the UN effectively adopt Kosovo. UN peacekeepers there now, I believe, not NATO troops.

And last I heard Trunks, there was no evidence for Ukrainian crimes against Russians.

    - “UN may have been a little late to the fray, but I seem to recall a UN SC Resolution saw the UN effectively adopt Kosovo.”
    I say...:
    - You seem to RECALL a UN SC Resolution saw the UN effectively adopt Kosovo...???
    - Well..., you, evidently “RECALL” wrongly...
    - “UN SC RESOLUTION 1244” does “reaffirm the commitment of UN member states to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the ”Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Ergo: Serbia, Montenegro, Vojvodina and Kosovo...)“ and ”reaffirms calls for substantial autonomy and meaningful self-administration for Kosovo“...

    You say further...:
    - ”UN peacekeepers there now, I believe, not NATO troops.“
    I say...:
    - Well..., you ”Believe“ wrongly..., again...
