Falklands to continue asphalting MPA Road to the airport

The Falklands Islands Public Works Department (PWD) has announced that road works are soon to resume on the MPA Road to the international airport, in preparation for the asphalting to be undertaken this coming season. Work is expected to start on Thursday 31 August 2023.

There will be diversions in place between the Frying Pan and the Green Pen, with a temporary road constructed bypassing the affected areas. This is to allow for replacing existing culverts, remove existing asphalt surfacing, replacing existing cattle grids and widening the existing road.

The PWD apologize in advance for the inconvenience that may be experienced by drivers. However it is hoped that works will be completed in a timely manner and with as little upheaval as possible.
