Former Uruguayan President Luis Alberto Lacalle Herrera, father of the current head of state, is under home hospitalization after suffering an ischemic stroke on Sunday, which is now in remission, it was reported in Montevideo.
Physicians at the British Hospital in the Uruguayan capital found that the stroke had affected a small vessel, it was also explained.
Lacalle Herrera, 82, was discharged at around noon Tuesday but sent home for further treatment.
Admitted to the British Hospital, he was diagnosed with an ischemic stroke in remission. After the usual examinations, it was found that the stroke had affected a small vessel, Spokeswoman Elsa Levrero said in a statement.
Meanwhile, President Luis Lacalle Pou renewed his driver's license in Rocha like an ordinary citizen.

According to Montevideo Portal, the president took the theoretical and practical test and paid the UY$ 2,026 fee (US$ 61). He also took the medical test at Rocha's emergency service.
