So Venezuela “slept on its rights“

    exstinctive prescription

    ”SOURCES OF INTERNATIONAL LAW

    General Principle
It refers to a principle that gives rise to international legal obligations which were inserted in Article 38(1) (c) of the ICJ statute as “general principles of law recognized by civilized nations.” Some of the examples for the general principle of international law are,

    Laches
    Good faith
    Res judicata
    The impartiality of judges
The right of self-defense for the individual against attack on his person, family, or community against a clear and present danger,
For one’s cause, no one can be a judge and that the judge must hear both sides.”

    Speaking of concocted stories,

Good ol' Nicolas Maduro never concocts any nice stories.

Because in Venezuela there is a free press to call out any lies he might promote.

The free press in Russia, and China, and Iran, and Nicaragua also keeps those governments from concocting any mistruths.

In the Anglosphere however, the free press is jailed or murdered, robbing those people of the information they need to choose their leaders.

The only news organizations that remain in the Anglosphere, such as CNN, MSNBC, the BBC, the Guardian, the Huffington Post, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, are just mouthpieces for any propaganda that particular anglo government wants to promote.

Nicolas Maduro has been in power for over a decade because he doesn't concoct stories, he tells the truth. For this, his people regularly elect him back into office with over 90% of the vote.

The governments of Russia, and China, and Iran, and Nicaragua also stay in power for decades because they do not concoct any nice stories. They also receive over 90% of the vote, because they tell the truth.

Concocted propaganda is just not the way of these governments. It's never done.

After reading comments on here for the last 6 months i have come to the conclusion that the poster Taenk is either on drugs or mentally challenged, humble he most certainly is not, neither funny or clever either, bizarre posts that have nothing to do with anything, an obsession with so called Anglos and a fascination for vegetables, and quite clearly he does not know what brainwashing is. if he talked like that in Norway to people then he would be booking a bed in the nearest hospital and then deported,

An agreement must be sought between the two countries, without interference from Russia, the USA, or even Brazil.

An agreement that provides the conditions for Venezuela and Guyana to benefit and strengthen their economic and cultural ties. Where everyone feels good and equal.

A great opportunity to build true peace. South America is rooting for this.

So, Venezuela claims sovereignty over all the territories that had belonged in colonial times to the Captaincy General of Venezuela and that it had inherited in 1811 at the time of independence.’

    Interestingly, according to this map:

    https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/Mapa_de_la_Capitania_General_de_Venezuela_%281777%29.jpg

The Captaincy General of Venezuela did include the Essequibo region, but it also includes large parts of what are today Brazil and Colombia.

No threat to annex and start drilling for oil and gas in those areas I see.

Could it be there is no oil and gas in those regions? Or is it just that the Brazilians and Colombians have much bigger and better equipped militaries?

Given that Venezuela already has the largest oil/gas reserves in the world and the country is trashed, literally and completely, even adding a reserve rich territory like Essequibo to the country will not alleviate the poverty in Venezuela one iota.

Anymore than Argentina gaining control of the Falklands would be the economic miracle that restores Argentina to being a normal country.

Both issues are simply a distraction for the masses, take their minds of the misery they live in daily.

Although, I reckon Maduro is stupid enough to try and take control of Essequibo by force.

Which begs the question what will the other S. American countries do, if anything, in that event.

Or will the Americans have to sort it out?

Believe me, in this Amazonian environment the United States would not win a war. No matter how many qualified warriors a country has, in the jungle environment there would be enormous losses and the populations of their countries would overthrow their governments.

There is no just cause. There is no reason that validates an armed attack far from home.

We Brazilians are worried. And we are preparing for the worst. WE WILL NOT ALLOW A WAR ON OUR BORDERS.

Venezuela and Guyana must resolve their disputes peacefully. And may God forbid that we Brazilians need to interfere militarily. We hate war, but we hate leaving it even more!

Just stop Bras, this is not about the USA , again you have wandered off again with your hatred towards the USA, this is down to the crackpot leader in Venezuela , can you not see what is going on,. we will not allow war on our borders, then tell Maduro NO, if Brazil does not help and protect Guyana then Guyana has every right to ask someone else for help, and do you really think you could stop the USA, you would not even try, Brazil would be happy with Maduro gone and his military defeated.

    Bras
In the event of a conflict and American intervention, the Venezuelan military would be surrendering to the Americans in droves. Demanding to be taken prisoner and shipped State Side.

The Venezuelan military would be capable of only token resistance at best, to even a small American force.

If S. America want to resolve this issue itself (which is what should happen) then it needs to act quickly, before this fool Maduro causes a full blown crisis.

Venezuelans will not surrender. There is no Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or even a bigger monster that can scare them.

They get everything from the jungle. Having a beautiful boa constrictor as a pillow is like a woman's comfort.

USA will be attacking their home. They will not surrender!

“Venezuelans unilaterally approved the annexation of the territory of almost 160,000 square kilometers. It is an “organic law to regulate the creation of the state of Guayana Esequiba,”

Lots of luck with that claim, if you can hack your way through 200klms of rain forest.

“Guyana has one of the largest unspoiled rainforests in South America, parts of which are almost inaccessible by humans”

Or send your navy in and run a gauntlet of Caribbean, US, and British allies. Or persuade Brazil for a passage through their territory.
