Talks between Presidents Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil and Santiago Peña of Paraguay reached nowhere Monday in Brasilia as both leaders failed to reach an agreement over the Itaipú dam electricity fares. However, dialogue will continue. Read full article

Brazil needs Itaipu less and less. The Kw produced by our wind and solar plants in the Northeast costs 1/3 the price of what is produced in Itaipu. Paraguay's bargaining power is weakened.

In 2024 alone, the Northeast will receive 200 billion reais in investment in green energy.
