Colombian President Gustavo Petro Tuesday said during his appearance at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, that oil- extracting in the Essequibo area held by Guyana but claimed by Venezuela should not go on. He also reckoned the dispute was on the verge of becoming a military conflict. Read full article

    Doubtful how capable either side is of fighting a real war in Essequibo even a short one, however Maduro is stupid enough to try.

    Then we shall see how effective S. America are in resolving it, if indeed they can.

    He talks a good fight on climate, except he want someone else to pay for what he needs to be doing for his own survival.

    ‘reduce emissions from the northern chimneys’, That’s a laugh!!!

    In most developed countries emissions have been steadily falling for the last 30 years by up to 50% and most have plans in place to be Carbon zero in the next 30-40 years, all of which is being more than offset by the rise in emissions from the global south.

    Unless total global emissions start falling rapidly we are not going to avoid the worst effects of climate change, it’s that simple.
