Argentine Navy: No more beards allowed

Argentina's Navy issued an internal regulation whereby all active members must refrain from donning a beard effective April 1, it was reported in Buenos Aires. The measure dated Feb. 27 is signed by Rear Admiral Juan Carlos Romay, General Director of Personnel and Welfare, and is said to “facilitate” military training. Read full article

    If I remember aright, the ship had to have some work done, and rather than pay for the cost of having it done in Germany where the ship was built, they decided to do it themselves, cutting the ship hull to do the work. No doubt the money saved went straight to the usual suspects with sadly predictable results. It reminds me of that Christmas Eve where La Asesina was dancing and injured her leg in Santa Cruz. When they took her to the hospital, they found that the scanner wasn't working because they had failed to pay for the maintenance of the equipment. They wheeled her over to the X ray machine, and found that that too was out of order for the same reason. They then ended up flying her to Buenos Aires to get treatment. I think there's a lesson in there somewhere... ;)
