China on Tuesday announced an ambitious economic growth target of 5% for 2024, vowing to “seek progress while maintaining stability” amid a sluggish economy and weak confidence among investors and consumers. This contrasts with the 5,2% reported for 2023 and 3% during 2022. Read full article

China grew 5.2% in 2023. Westerners cry! Die with envy, Westerners!

Those who don't trust China and its growth are you Westerners.

    I trust China!

Old world thinking Bras, continuous unending growth isn’t possible for any economy and not good for the planet.

Sustainability and a circular economy, greatly reducing pollution and demand for resources is the way forward, not ever increasing demand for raw materials and levels of pollution.

    “I trust China!”

The country of India does not trust China. Are they westerners?

Their population is bigger than the EU, US, & Canada combined, the “West”.

They are a BRICS nation, aren't they?

Should the country of India be kicked out of BRICS?

Do you know what the problem is with you doormats in the West? You have no honor! They do not honor the history of their families and the struggle of our common ancestors for the end of slavery, social inequalities, imperialism, for the end of HUNGER in our America.

In 500 years of common history with the West, our people have only received insults, coups and espionage. Our people didn't even have access to fairer trade with you Westerners. And nothing we have done or will do will change this reality with the West.

The time for divorce has come. For the first time in 500 years we have the opportunity to get a small place in the sun where we can give our people a dignified life. Where it is no longer necessary to humiliate ourselves at your borders, where we are treated like bandits, where arrogance and racism are spit in our faces.

Follow your course, Westerners. We are following ours.

It seem Bras’s Ancestors didn’t ‘struggle’ very hard to end slavery or social inequalities, or imperialism in Brazil.

‘On May 13th 1888, Brazil became the last nation in the Western Hemisphere to formally abolish slavery. One-hundred and twenty years later, it is estimated that 25,000 to 40,000 workers are still victims of conditions analogous to slavery in this South American country.’

Slavery continues to this day. Including in the West. Maybe the BBC should make a documentary about this.

As long as capitalism, especially of a neoliberal/financial nature, exists, there will always be a skilled man of little faith willing to mutilate and destroy another man's life in exchange for mirrors.
