What the Venezuelans could do, what the Ecuadorians should have done, what the British threatened to do, is to move the embassy to another location.

Everybody and everything in the current building has diplomatic status and can move to the new location unhindered, however any Assanges living there can be arrested if they try to leave, or just wait until the moving is complete and the building no longer has diplomatic status then go in and get them.
