Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced Thursday that two maximum security prisons were to be refurbished in haste to house and “reeducate” the political opponents of his regime who were arrested during the recent protests following his fudgy reelection last Sunday. Read full article

This is such a characteristic move by a dictatorial despot. On the one hand he tries to intimidate with harsh imprisonment (before any guilt is determined, of course), on the other hand he shows his fear of the popular sentiment and his paranoia that his ideas are the only correct ones.
