The Falkland Islands have decades of close links with Chile which not only refer to trade, connectivity, shipping, but are mainly because of the long-established Chilean community in the Islands. Currently almost two hundred strong they are the largest from mainland South America and have greatly contributed to the development of the Islands in different fields of expertise, both in Camp and Stanley. Disclaimer & comment rulesWell, if we consider the proximity of mainland Argentina, it is strange that there is no Argentine community similar to the Chilean one on the islands. In mainland Argentina there are also families with members or descendants born on the islands.

1833, there are a small number of Argentines living happily in the Falklands , who all voted for the islands to stay as a BOT,
