Disclaimer & comment rulesAs I always mention, there are strong historical ties between Argentine Patagonia and the islands, even with the United Kingdom itself. But many here insist on denying it.

Minister Rawson - English surname - facilitated the arrival of the settlers.

Sep 28th, 2024 - 04:54 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Argentina’s constitution says sovereignty of the Islands is non-negotiable, what you propose would be illegal under Argentinian law, as well as British law, so a very short discussion as neither side can actually negotiate.
First you must repeal the ‘non-negotiable sovereignty’ clause in your constitution, before you can call for any ‘sovereignty negotiations’.
Not that it would change anything on the British side, but at least you could talk to the British/Islanders knowing that finally you have done the right thing.
