At least 12 people have been confirmed dead Thursday in the U.S. state of Florida, where Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm with maximum sustained winds of 115 mph from the Gulf of Mexico into the Atlantic Ocean, leaving millions without power and causing severe damage. Disclaimer & comment rulesSo, a category 4 and then a 3 (lucky down from a category 5 at the last minute) in the space of two weeks. Not to mention Hurricane Beryl, the earliest Category 5 Atlantic hurricane on record, and only the second ever recorded in July.
