Argentina's Defense Ministry will be sacking the person responsible for using the word “Falklands” on the Argentina.gob.ar website when it should have been “Malvinas.” Read full article
Kind of petty and pathetic, really. That someone will lose their job for using the correct name. Funnily enough, all these foreign ministers, Governors of the Southern Islands have never actually visited their islands. I would love one of them to pop over for a coffee and chat. I'm sure Ms Mondino would love a stamp in her passport!
As she wouldn’t have to go through customs upon return to Argentina, she could buy thing there and pay no Argentinian tax or duty on it and bring it back to Argentina completely legally.
Probably arrange to have a suitcase full of USD waiting for her at the local bank.
If Argentina doesn't want to have the bodies of soldiers fallen and buried in the Falklands during the 1982 war identified, they can just say so.
The Falklands parliament should oppose the attempt to call the Falklands Islands Malvinas instead of Falklands (or perhaps Falklands/Malvinas), and simply not acknowledge Malvinas.
