Several events over the last weekend seem to indicate that the last September understanding between UK and Argentina regarding South Atlantic and Falkland Islands interests, agreed by Foreign Secretary David Lammy and then Foreign Affairs minister Diana Mondino is beginning to make sense. The more constructive attitude will only last while the fanatical Peronists are out of power, if and when they do return to government and they pull out of any agreements again, then no Argentine should be allowed to visit the islands,

Milei knows full well the Malvinas argument is totally flawed.
He also knows that there are millions of brainwashed Argies who link their national pride and identity to the myth and humiliations.
He needs some of them to vote for him.

If the Peronists stay out of power long enough the fanaticism will fade, perhaps the true events of 1832-3 will be taught to Argentines...and drip by drip if with subside.

But the brainwashing is ingrained.

The islands were never Argentine, are not Argentine, and can only be Argentine with the consent of the population.

@Monkey I think you are spot on about Milei, he has to say the usual garbage just to placate the general public as its political suicide not too, Peronist are the problem not the solution for Argentina, more than likely a lot of Argentines also know the reality of the situation but also stay silent, its only fanatics like Zit, Libbo and Marv cant see the reality and will be spouting the nonsense till their last breath,
