    Private Charter?
What is good for the goose, ought to be good for the gander.

I agree, the bodies should be shoved out the open back of a cargo plane over the ocean like drugged nuns...

Most certainly the bodies should be repatriated, if they refuse to accept them then a respectful burial at sea should take place, not one Argentine should be allowed to set foot on the islands until they drop their ridiculous false claim to the Falklands,

I am appalled at these disrespectful comments. These are young men that gave the ultimate sacrifice no mater which side they were on. Shame on you!
There are several British cemeteries from different military campaigns around the world and no one is asking them to be disinterred and taken back to the UK

Living the dream.. clearly you do not know , the Argentines have used the war graves as a political tool for years, when visiting the islands they have shown massive disrespect to the islanders, shitting everywhere, disrespecting the Falklands war memorial, raising their flags when ever possible, it was they who invaded a peaceful land , a people that bothered no one, successive Argentine governments have tried to bully the islanders, tried to isolate them, you think that deserves respect, they have not even apologised for invading and killing, threatening children with guns, as i said , if they dont accept the return of the bodies to Argentina, then a burial at sea is the right thing to do, do some research,

@Livingthedream, over the weekend, there was a post on one of their “news” fora, whining about so-called “illegal flights” into Uruguay and Brazil by the British military. Argentina, contrary to inernational law, refuse to allow over-flight of their land by British flights and deny safe harbour to either British- or Falklands-flagged shipping. In recent years they have impounded trawlers flagged as Falkland Islands, sailing in FI waters and demanded ransom! Not only that, I have witnessed them desecrating British wra memorials in the islands, and it is a very common occurrence, even today. These poor war-dead should have been repatriated. Today, they are used as political pawns. Our government is quite within it's rights to deny any charter flights from Argentina, but they don't wish to stoop to their level. I disagree, I think we should stoop to their level, as it is the only thing they know. Imagine, were they to do so, the clamour at the UN!

Well said Fitzroy, Living the dream needs to research things before posting such statements, where i slightly differ is, the next time Argentina withdraws from any agreement then the ban should be put in place, international law works both ways, not pick and choose like BA does,

Perhaps Argentina should abide by the treaties that she is signatory to.
Chicago Convention which she signed on 4 June 1946. Also known as:
The International Air Services Transit Agreement, 1944
containing what has come to be known as ”The Two Freedoms”.
    1) The privilege to fly across the territory of a state without landing;
    2) The privilege to land for non-traffic purposes; which she signed on 4 June 1946.

I politely disagree with the statements here.

The new Argentine president has made more progress with Anglo-Argentine relations in 6 months than the Peronists made in 50 years.

I think there is a good opportunity to continue to build that relationship and remove the Argentine aggression completely.

We can then have respectful discussions about the future of the war graves.

While i agree with your statement MM,. the problem is that the lunatic Peronists will get back in power at some point in the future and un do all the progress made, its in their dna,

@Monkeymagic, to be honest, I think it is wishful thinking that Argentina will continue moving forwards. Since the war, they have continued with low-level belligerence, piracy and torn up every agreement they have made with us and the UK. They even denied the second flight out of Brazil. We have to keep an eye on them when they do visit. It is a shame, the war dead ought to be treated with respect, but every single visit is attended by journalists who continue with the political spin. Hell, they can't even be bothered to call Stanley by it's true name! I think, because of this, there a tangible difference when you visit their cemetery at Fish Creek and the British cemetery at San Carlos. They treat their war dead as political pawns.

    Fitzroy

I agree, Argentine behaviour under the Kirchnerite/Peronist regimes is/was evil. Truly disgusting.

I think Milei has a chance, it may be a small chance, but a chance. He has to lance a 50 year old Peronist boil, which is full of corruption, lies and poison...but he is trying.

We see that poison on these forums, you see the activists who use the cemetery as political capital, I understand that.

But we have to be better than those people, we need to hope that the people who voted for Milei continue to see Peronism for what it is, and become a bigger majority in Argentina. Then slowly the Malvinas brainwashing can be undone. It takes time,

    Closing the cemetery won't help.
