That's a double-edged sword, more even so if the government officials find themselves tempted to instant access to large amounts of easy money. Ask Sri Lanka or Zambia about the so-called “Chinese debt trap”.

As I used to caution my math students: Better keep up or learn some basic phrases, such as 你会用米饭吗？(will you have rice with that?) or 你想修剪你的草坪吗？(how would you like your lawn trimmed?) The American empire is in decline, as evidenced by its internal decadence, and the next rising global imperial people appear to be the Han. Kowtowing to them now only serves to accelerate the shift.
