The Paraguayan Government, under President Santiago Peña, has issued a travel advisory for its nationals, advising them to stay away from Venezuela or leave the country at the earliest, considering that Asunción does not have an embassy or consulate in that territory and therefore its ability to assist people in distress is limited.

Paraguay's Foreign Ministry recommended Paraguayan citizens to avoid traveling to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, given the complex institutional and security situation in that country.

“Paraguayan citizens are advised to refrain from flying to that country due to the delicate situation it is currently experiencing,” the agency said in a statement.

The warning came in addition to the preventive measures that the Executive has been adopting in relation to countries considered to be at risk, to protect the safety and well-being of its citizens.

In this scenario, the Bolivarian Government of Nicolás Maduro successfully carried out over the weekend the voluntary enlistment of nationals willing to defend the Chavista regime from a potential military operation by the United States. Washington has sent a flotilla to nearby waters in the Caribbean Sea, which prompted Maduro to deliver a string of speeches highlighting the illegality of foreign interference in other countries' affairs.

Venezuelans continue to take to the streets in a show of commitment to their government, participating en masse in every event hosted by representatives of the Bolivarian Revolution.

According to photographs going viral on the internet, the Venezuelan populace is not intimidated by the imperialistic deployment and the mixed reports circulating nationwide that an attack was imminent.
