I would like to think that wise heads in the US Military, may have had some say in their President's climb-down.

Whilst if will be seen as a victory for Trump in MAGA Land; it can also be seen as a victory for NATO, as expansion of the US Military Footprint in Greenland will contribute to Arctic security and overall deterrence.

Of course, it remains to be seen what the actual scale of the threat was.
