Protesters returned to the streets of Minneapolis demanding accountability after Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive-care nurse and U.S. citizen, was shot dead during a federal immigration enforcement operation. Multiple videos of the incident are now central to official reviews, as the episode triggers a fresh political clash between Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Trump administration—set against a broader national fight over “sanctuary” policies and how far local authorities should cooperate with federal immigration agencies. Trump's just following Putin's orders to start a civil war in the US. Move along, nothing to see here...

Significantly, two gun rights associations, The National Rifle Association and the Gun Owners of America, both generally right wing, weighed in with criticism of the government's narrative. ( https://www.newsweek.com/nra-makes-rare-statement-against-trump-admin-over-alex-pretti-shooting-11321317 ). This portends an end to the unqualified support by right wing nuts for the jack booted storm trooper activities of federal immigration agents.

    IF the U.S. Goverment, and the American people, made sure ICE did what they were supposed to be doing 25 years ago;

there would not be these terrible problems with immigration now.

People living in democracies allow their governments to put off solving unpleasant problems making future consequences of those problems even more severe. (kicking the can down the road).

ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, is finally doing what they should have been doing 25 years ago.

ICE is enforcing the laws of the U.S. Those protesters are obstructing justice and somehow, they are “the poor victims”.

All those other government bureaucrats and politicians, who accepted their paychecks for, “not doing their job”, are the good guys.

President Trump has to deal with the severe consequences of previous governments inaction, and with previous complacency on the part of the American people.

And Trump is the “jack-booted stormtrooper” for being the one government official who is finally, finally, finally doing his job.

I know, I know, “Oh, but there is no need to be so severe”! That is just verbage fantasy that will only lead to further inaction and more severe consequences.

Those protesters are the ones who are being too severe, about protecting law breakers.

(And those “generally right wing” people, who turned into “right wing nuts” by the end of your paragraph, might only be concerned about “cheap farm labor”. Support for illegal immigration comes from both sides, that's why nothing has been done about a problem important to working class and blue collar Americans. That's why Trump won)

”Beginning in 1943, the War Department published a series of pamphlets for U.S. Army personnel in the European theater of World War II. Titled Army Talks, ...

On March 24, 1945, the topic for the week was “FASCISM!”

Fascism is government by the few and for the few. The objective is seizure and control of the economic, political, social, and cultural life of the state.” “The people run democratic governments, but fascist governments run the people.”

“The basic principles of democracy stand in the way of their desires; hence — democracy must go! Anyone who is not a member of their inner gang has to do what he’s told. They permit no civil liberties, no equality before the law.”

Fascists “make their own rules and change them when they choose…. They maintain themselves in power by use of force combined with propaganda based on primitive ideas of ‘blood’ and ‘race,’ by skillful manipulation of fear and hate, and by false promise of security. The propaganda glorifies war and insists it is smart and ‘realistic’ to be pitiless and violent.”

... it was important for Americans to understand the tactics fascists would use to take power in the United States. They would try to gain power “under the guise of ‘super-patriotism’ and ‘super-Americanism.’” And they would use three techniques:

First, they would pit religious, racial, and economic groups against one another to break down national unity. Part of that effort to divide and conquer would be a “well-planned ‘hate campaign’ against minority races, religions, and other groups.”

Second, they deny any need for international cooperation, because that would fly in the face that their supporters were better than everyone. “In place of international cooperation, the fascists seek to substitute a perverted sort of ultra-nationalism which tells their people that they are the only people in the world who count. ”

Third, fascists would insist that “the world has but two choices — either fascism or communism, and they label as

I like to keep it simple. Politics is best described as a circle. At the top there is a point labeled “Moderation.” The line of the circle going down to the right is labeled “Fascism”, and the one to the left is is labelled “Communism.” At the bottom where they meet is a point labeled “Concentration Camps.” Works for me... ;)

    Cont.

Third, fascists would insist that “the world has but two choices — either fascism or communism, and they label as ‘communists’ everyone who refuses to support them.”

It is “vitally important” to learn to spot them, “even though they adopt names and slogans with popular appeal, drape themselves with the American flag, and attempt to carry out their program in the name of the democracy they are trying to destroy.”
