The Falkland Islands Environment Department, together with Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Maritime Authority joined SAERI and other related organizations in celebrating World Environment Day and World Ocean Day during the last weekend.
World Environment Day was on June 5th, while World Oceans Day June 8th
The invitation from SAERI said come along to the FIDF Hall, Sunday 7th June, 2pm/4pm for an exciting afternoon packed with activities, fascinating facts, and hands-on fun for all ages. “Take part, and learn a bit more about our environment, our oceans, and the work happening across the Falkland Islands to protect them”.
“A chance to explore, ask questions and celebrate the environment we depend on”.
Besides enjoying there’ll be tea, coffee, and tasty bites to keep you fueled as you explore and discover more about our amazing environment and ocean and the life it supports”.
“Falklands depend mainly on the fishing industry and tourism for the dynamism of the economy and budget, Ensuring conservation, sustainability and ecological awareness of the environment and oceans are crucial,
“Our seas are home to some of the most remarkable marine life on Earth. Extraordinary wildlife and our economy depend entirely on the ocean’s health, and what happens here matters not just for the Falklands, but for the world”.
