The Irish Times has published a very interesting piece from Tomaí Ó Conghaile following on the fallout from the World Cup, who argues that both the English and Spanish versions of the Falkland-Malvinas Islands names have their roots in Celtic languages. Read full article

How interesting, you learn something every day.

Although I don’t understand, why the Mapuche would think they should get British territory in compensation for territory stolen from them by the Spanish then Argentina.

Isn’t even a word in Mapudungun for the Falklands.

Nothing to do with us.

Unless of course all Europeans look the same to them.
