Aug 08th, 2026 - 07:46 pm - Link - Report abuse -4The part about “Argentina invading in a week” is sad and laughable, Argentina in all it's history never had a military posture about the islands, 1982 was just the mad venture of a desperate Junta that took the country by force, they have no military that presents any kind of threat to Britain, not even in 82, when they had to flood the islands with inexperienced untrained soldiers because that was the only real mass force they had. The British wanted the war, because they knew what the outcome was going to be, and what to do with that outcome.

How have i not answered your question ? its plain as day. i told you its not a huge base, i told you its not a costly base either, how on earth did Britain want a war, are you mad, if Galtieri had waited 2 more months we could not have retaken the islands, the Invincible was being sold off and the Hermes being scrapped, your reasoning is so far off the mark its laughable. during ww2 Argentina had drawn up plans to have a go at the Falklands or have you conveniently forgot that,
Aug 08th, 2026 - 08:11 pm - Link - Report abuse +4so we move our 1000 troops out, remove our Typhoons and Helis out, with draw our air defence systems. you really believe that Argentina would not take advantage of that ?, of course they would, it wouldnt take much for you to land a couple of hundred marines to land on the islands which would overwhelm the FDF , get real, the fact that they are there is the reason their is peace in the region, ask yourself why no other South American country trusts or likes Argentina.

South Atlantic Islands. All of them. British interests are far wider than just the Falkland Islands, ranging as far down as our claim in Antarctica.
Why do they need protection? Avaricious neighbours.

You're end time is coming, and I hope I'm still around to see that blessing befall the world and the islanders you are using for human shields.
Whatever may or may not have happened elsewhere in the world, it did not happen in the S. Atlantic, which when the British arrived was uninhabited, unexplored and unclaimed.

You ran out of S. America to conquer from the Indians, so you thought you’d have a go at British territory in the S. Atlantic/Antarctic.
If the British military were not there, then very soon Argy boats would be patrolling Falklands waters and Argy settlements would be springing up in S. Georgia and even the S. Sandwich islands.
Not to mention extending to Antarctica.
What Pat/Argentina don’t like is that the British military presence prevents that and keeps Argentina’s ‘sphere of influence’ in its 200nm EEZ, and they can’t even control that.
Perhaps they should start with trying to control what they have first, and fund that.
As to the British costs, well it’s not a lot, especially when you consider how much British territory is being defended.
Also, why is the amount a concern to Pat/Argentina, because it prevents their expansion plans.
Unlike Atahualpa or the Mapuche, the British have more than just sticks and stones with which to defend their territory.
Mr Regini, what did the Spanish do in the past, what did the Romans do in the past. your ancestors, what did the French, Portuguese, German , Dutch, Russians, Turks, Mongols, Japanese , Chinese, Persians, Arabs etc do ?, your hatred if Britain is clear to see but objective you are not, how about criticising all those Empire builders, how about criticising Argentina for stealing the southern part of the country, the fact that Britains small base upsets you so much is silly and childish , and you are lying when you say Argentina would not take advantage if the base was closed down, you need counselling on your fixation with Britain and the Falklands, especially with your warped view, and that is being polite,
