FIFA's Disciplinary Committee on Friday imposed financial and sporting sanctions on the Argentine Football Association and four members of its national squad over the confrontations at the end of the 2026 World Cup final and over breaches committed throughout the tournament, among them the display of a banner asserting a sovereignty claim over the Falklands. Better late than never. Of course, the sanctions and fines are a mere slap on the wrist, but even largely symbolic penalties have a certain value. They point out the disgraceful nature of Argentine's football culture. These bums should never have reached the final in the first place. Their continued celebration of the 'hand-of-god' puts the exclamation point behind their character.

Better than nothing I suppose and as much as could have been expected from FIFA.

Things may change once Infantino has gone, which wont be long now, one way or another, but don’t hold your breath.

Also, the Falkland Islands have been ‘administered by the United Kingdom since’ 1765 and not 1833.
