The formalization of a regular commercial maritime link between the Falklands and Chile, together with the promotion of an Expo of Islands and Chilean products in Punta Arenas, are being pushed with considerable enthusiasm by the Chilean shipping company Easter Island Naviera (EIN), which connects Easter Island with mainland Chile. ‘development of the oil industry’, in Chile they see the money and business opportunities this brings to the region.

In Argentina there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth, as the world moves on in their part of the world, and they’re not part of it.

Oh well, some things can’t be helped, I’d say they’ll get over it, but they won’t.
