
Venezuelan officials issued strong condemnations this week regarding the expanded US military presence in the Caribbean, accusing the United States of violating international law through attacks on civilian vessels and attempting to destabilize the government of Nicolás Maduro.

The Argentine Government of President Javier Milei on Tuesday designated the Cártel de los Soles (Cartel of the Suns) as a terrorist organization and added it to the Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Acts of Terrorism and their Financing (RePET).

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña has signed a decree officially declaring the Cartel de los Soles an “international terrorist organization,” it was announced in Asunción. The Government argued that the measure highlighted its commitment to fighting transnational crime and protecting national sovereignty.

Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa officially declared the “Cartel de los Soles” a terrorist group. Noboa's decree on Thursday aligns with a similar designation made by the US Republican administration of President Donald Trump in July.
