Representatives from holdout investment funds have requested the Argentine government to postpone until the first week of February, next week's scheduled proposal to overcome the country's debt situation which remains technically in default.
Economy minister Axel Kicillof has confirmed that Argentina would enter talks with mediator 'Special Master' Daniel Pollack over the legal battle currently raging between the nation and holdout hedge funds as 'vulture funds', while clarifying that those funds would not be present.
After a day of fury and discussions with cabinet members, advisors and experts, Argentine president Cristina Fernandez will be sending a government delegation to New York to meet Judge Thomas Griesa and the hedge funds holdouts' solicitors and begin, hopefully, a round of negotiations to reach a settlement on the bonds litigation.
