Agents working for Argentina's Federal Public Incomes Administration (AFIP), with a little help from Larishka the dog, found 86,500 dollars hidden by an Argentine who was trying to leave the country for Uruguay.
The Argentine central bank confirmed on Wednesday that there is no money exchange restrictions for the federal government or provinces to purchase US dollars to honour public debt issued offshore.
Argentine President Cristina Fernández again denied the existence of money exchange restrictions over the purchase of dollars by explaining that “Argentina has already paid 79.8 billion dollars so far this year”.
